The guy on KDS who broke the Montgomery to Motherwell story is saying that we are still interested in McKenna but for the summer with a pre contract deal.

MJ has a one permanent offer and some loan offers. Club want him out in a permanent deal but MJ wants to stay and fight for his place.

Bernardo deal is about £4m. Club will 100% activate it. We are still chasing a LB and ST but no names given.

We want you an upgrade on Joe Hart and Greg Taylor. I don’t think that’s too much to expect from us. No like we are trying to replace great players here.

 

There is a vast difference between signing players destined for the Premier League and what we try and sign. There are a number of goalkeepers out there who would come in and upgrade us, who aren't being targeted by Premier League clubs but are being targeted by the bigger clubs in Austria, Holland, Belgium, Portugal and Scandinavia.

No one is suggesting we compete with Premier League clubs. That's such a non argument.

In this particular case, he's likely to get game time at Brentford. I don't think Flekken has done as good a job for them as they'd hoped and will be looking to bring in someone who can compete for their number one position. However, I think there is an argument to make that we can sell a vision and a project to a player, with the scenario of them ending up in the Premier League after 2/3 seasons of being number one here. As I said, though. In this particular case, he's going there to challenge Flekken and will likely play games for them.

 

Hes not going to be 1st choice at Brentford and will likely now lose his spot in national team.

All the more infuriating when you take into account Siegrest is likely only on £8k a week. So we have held off doing a deal for for a talented young keeper for the equivalent of £150k between now and end of the season.

No doubt he'll end up becoming a top keeper and going for £10m+ but hey we managed to save paying out £150k to our 4th choice keeper.

Generally yes but keepers are bit different. He's not going to play at Brentford. Option of being number 1 and keeping his place in national team may have been enough to swing it in our favour
