That livramento boy is some player. Brilliant last night against PSG. Thought KT woulda been perfect at Newcastle but totally agree think that ships sailed now and can’t see us paying the £15mil plus arsenal will want to recoup the 25 they paid us.

His fee when any team has been linked to permanently getting him has not shifted from £30m Arsenal want. Hence the loan instead really because they would only get that if he proves he can play 50 games or so in a season. Angers me so much what we done to that boy, total disregard for his future career, and doing so seems to have ended up to really * up what should have been a great successful career. Now it feels more like it’ll be one of those one when he retires ‘what if he didn’t have the injuries’ type. We * that for him. BR and Lennon.

 

Tripper plays at right back for them, but can play on the left and does for England regularly. Livramento can use both foot and plays on the left for them, also have Dan Burn and Lewis Hall so it's quite a strong position for them.

I have a feeling that we'll persist with GT until the end of the season and make a push for KT in the Summer window.

 

I'd be ok with that with these conditions, that we know for 100% that KT will join us and we can offer enough for Arsenel to accept. without those guarantees tho we'd just be kicking the can down the road and hoping things work out.

HE is firmly of the belief that his old friend, one-time protégé and former team mate could play for any club in the world.

Yet, Scott Brown has admitted that he would love to see Kieran Tierney make a return to his boyhood heroes Celtic and predicted that it might happen in the future.

The Scottish champions’ legendary captain Brown was a huge influence on Tierney when the young left back broke into the first team at Parkhead eight years ago.

He helped his fellow Scot to develop into one of the Glasgow giants’ most consistent performers at home and abroad in the seasons which followed and win no fewer than eight major honours.

Tierney has taken his career to another level since sealing a record £25m transfer to Arsenal in England and is currently starring for Spanish outfit Real Sociedad in La Liga and the Champions League.

The 26-year-old, who fell out of favour under Mikel Arteta in north London last term, is out of contract in the summer and is free to speak to interested parties next month.




The chances of Celtic being able to pay the wages of a proven Premier League performer seem remote. Still, rumours about the current Premiership leaders wanting to strengthen in his position persist.

Could the chance to return to the team he has supported all of his life and work under Brendan Rodgers domestically and in Europe once again prove tempting for the defender? It would be a major coup if it happened


But Brown, who has been pleased to see Tierney put a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury behind him this month, refused to rule it out.


He certainly thinks the club he spent 14 years at would be getting a vastly superior footballer to the one who departed in 2019 if they could pull it off.

“I’d love to see him back at Celtic, I would,” he said at Hampden earlier this week as he looked ahead to the Viaplay Cup final between Aberdeen and Rangers.

“He’s loved by all the fans and it’s such a huge club for him. It was a hard decision for him to leave because the club means so much to him. But at the same time he’s been away for that long now and experienced different things. Maybe he wants to experience other things now.

“There are a lot of clubs in England who’d take him. In fact, there are clubs all over the world who would take him, to be perfectly honest. But Celtic have that pull over him which is a great thing. I’d love to see it happen one day. You never know.”



Brown continued: “His whole family support Celtic. He went to the games when he was a kid. I’ve seen the pictures of him with Naka (Shunsuke Nakamura) when he got his boots and things like that. It’s in his blood, Celtic.

“It (Arsenal) was a hard move for him, it was heartbreaking. But I think it was the right move at the right time. And to the right club. I think he would have learned a lot working with Mikel Arteta even though he’s maybe not played as much.

“It will have been something totally different going over to Spain. He’s now experienced a lot but whenever he’s gone he’s been a top pro. You can see all the fans love him no matter where he goes.”

Tierney missed Scotland’s last three Euro 2024 qualifiers against Spain, Georgia and Norway due to his hamstring problem and Brown, who was on the pitch when the teenager won his first cap in a friendly win over Denmark at Hampden in 2016, knows his return to action augurs well for the national team.

“It’s been a bad one on his hammy,” he said. "But that’s him back in now and the wee man is unbelievable. He’s got great attributes. He’s got that desire to get back into the squad and he’ll fight anybody.


You can see why Arsenal wanted him to go down there and why Real Sociedad wanted him to go to Spain. He is a top quality player. He does it at Champions League level, at the top in England and now the top flight in Spain.

“He’s only going to get better with the more experience he gets as well. He’ll get to know his body as he gets older too. But he’s got so much to offer Scotland and future clubs, whatever he ends up.”

 

Get him up the road man, I reckon he’d be keen. A left back that can actually beat a man down the wing and get the ball in.

Scotland star Kieran Tierney has revealed there is no chance of him terminating his loan at Real Sociedad to return to Arsenal this month.

And he admits he faces an uncertain future this summer.

The ex-Celtic defender has recovered after a muscle injury in Spain and is a key player for the Basque side, who face PSG in the next round of the Champions League next month.

It was reported the Gunners may look to recall Tierney from his loan spell after an injury to Oleksandr Zinchenko.

But the 26-year has no intention of returning to London now.

He said: "Several people have already asked me if I was going to return to Arsenal now and the answer is no. I'm going to stay here for sure.

"As for staying here longer, the decision is not mine. But the only thing I can say is that I love playing for Real. And I'm enjoying it very much.

"Everything is fine with him [Mikel Arteta]. Last year I didn't play and spent a lot of time on the bench. But this is football, I have no problem with it. I had almost no injuries, I played about 30 games, many coming off the bench, but I felt fine.


Everyone knows that the Premier League has much more money. All clubs competing in that league can buy footballers for 30 million Euros. That's the big difference. But when it comes to quality, I don't think agree about the difference between the leagues, I think La Liga has extraordinary footballers.

"The atmosphere here is incredible. In England, there are also very good atmospheres and I don't want to speak badly about the Premier League because it is a great league, the fans are great.

"But if people saw La Liga more they would realise that it is an incredible tournament and so are the fans. If you go to play against Osasuna, you see their fans cheering like crazy. Or in Cadiz. And when we play at home, the fans behind the goals don't stop singing...it's great."


And Tierney, in an interview with a San Sebastian newspaper, insisted he will always remain a huge Celtic fan, as he explained why he moved in a £25 million deal.

He said: "I signed for Celtic at seven years old. I will always be Celtic. Always, always.
"When I think about what I did at Celtic, where I joined the first team from the academy and here I see Martín Zubimendi and Jon Pacheco and it was the same with them at Real.

"For them, it is their club, their Celtic and everyone loves them. And for me, it was really incredible to make it to the first team because I was seven years old when I joined the club. Here you have 15 players like that. It's tremendous.

"I was happy at Celtic and I had already had offers from Arsenal before but I didn't want to leave.

"But when they proposed it to me again it was a lot of money, Celtic also took a significant amount and I gained the ability to play in another league, so everyone won.

" I was happy at Celtic, not that I wanted to leave, but it was for the best.

"I have been very happy at Real. Even with the injury, I have played 11 or 12 games and I am very happy to have played in the Champions League and to have played against Real Madrid, the Basque derby and against Valencia.

"The fans here are awesome. Sometimes, when I'm on the street, I meet people and they always greet me charmingly and encourage me a lot. Always with a lot of respect, they never overwhelm you.

"I will never forget that when I was injured and I was leaving with my head down and very upset, I heard the fans singing Kieran Tierney. This confirmed to me what I already knew, that it is a very special club.

"The fans are very passionate and very crazy. I love that type of supporter.

"I think I was playing well before the injury, but I had not yet produced my best form. I would like to play better, contribute more assists and even score in a game. I hope to do it.

"For me, it has been important to come to a different country, learn a new language, meet another coach, play in another league.


"I don't know what will happen in the next year or two, no one can know, but I'm sure I'll have a lot of experience. I have played in Scotland, in the Premier League and La Liga. Not many players have had that privilege. So I'm really enjoying it."

And Tierney won't make any predictions about this summer's Euros in Germany.

He said: "I was lucky enough to play in the last Euros, but the stadiums were not full due to Covid.

"I don't like to talk about long-term goals, I prefer to work hard and go game by game."

 

Always loved KT. Never could wrap my head around the bitterness towards him from fans when he left. Like he said he turned down arsenal before and the club clearly accepted their bud then and wanted to sell him. Even if he himself wanted to go why begrudge a lad that gave us so much for trying to play at the top level and a hefty pay check to set him up for life. Love to see him back here one day

 

Failed to impress at real Sociedad and is being sent back to arsenal who will decide whether they want to keep him or not. He has also gained the reputation as being very injury prone.

Is he out of contract this summer?

 

Think I remember my emotion getting the better of me in the summer making want to bring him here on loan, but I think it would be a mistake thinking about it.

Fair do's if we had a quality left back already that he could share minutes with, but we need a reliable upgrade as it stands. If KT could guarantee us being fit for a champions league campaign I'd go for it, but knowing our luck he'd get injured and miss every game. Far too big a risk.
