See on full backs a few under the radar players they could do well for us.

Rui Modesto, 24 year old Angolan international and AIK right wing back. Very offensive player with good dribbling and attacking output. He is about 5’10 and very quick. More a wing back than a full back much like Frimpong in style, which would be useful against teams playing low blocks. They just sold their other decent full back for less than €1m so I wouldn’t imagine he would cost much.

Niklas Vesterlund, 24 Tromso right wing back who put up good numbers in Eliteserien last year. Is also about 6 ft and provides goals and assists from right back/wing back. Again would be good against low blocks. In the final year of his deal would be less than €2m.

Yvan Dibango, 21 year old Cameroonian left back playing in Ukrainian top league for the league leading side. Looks a good athlete, 6ft plus, strong, fast and looks an all round good full back. Looks like he could be a really good player for us just now and develop further.

That’s the £10m odd I was thinking. Small change down there

Don't think they'll get anywhere near that.

He has 18 months left on his contract, he hasn't started a single Premier League game for them. In fact, he hasn't played 1 single minute of Premier League football this season. They got him on a free transfer from Arsenal 2 years ago. He will be available for a cut price fee and that fee will be well below £10m, I'd imagine.

He's also 28 years old and turns 29 in a weeks time. The 'England International' is only important if they're continuing to play for England. He hasn't played for England since 2014 and hasn't made a squad since then, either.

They'll be luck to get 25% of £10m. I'd imagine he will be on very comfortable wages that Aston Villa will want off the books, which devalues him further.

Thought I’d found a wee belter, Milos Lukovic. * * literally just signed right for Strasbourg in the last ten minutes or something

Seen this one on facebook and found it interesting - out if contract in 6 months. 6’3 powerful defensive midfielder.

Quite experienced, only 25. Played consistently at QPR - Sam Field.

More a tough tackling big physical midfielder. Different option than what we have, be happier to be in and out the team and a tactical option rather than out and out starter. Adds some power and much needed height and physicality.

Decent on the ball, and a decent range of passing:

    @Mr Shelby I have a feeling that’s one you’d be happy with.

I’m not saying we should sign him. Although, he would be good cover at RB/CB. He was decent at Aston Villa for a short spell, I’m sure.

Just don’t think they would get that much for him, now. Played some conference games for them and that’s about it. 3 games I think, this season.

Would be an interesting one for sure. I think he would be a likelier target for the * across the road though. They seem to target these sort of players far more often than we do.

I’m judging him off maybe 4/5 years ago, as a young promising player. If he’s just that exact same level and not improved and available quite cheap, I’d definitely be all over that.

Bertrand Traore I’ve never noticed on a pitch but I’m sure I’ve seen him play. So * him then :56:

If we sold Abada and loaned out MJ, I'd be all over Bertrand Traore for 2/3 years, especially on a free.

His record is pretty good wherever he has been.

Lyon- 126 games, 33 goals and 13 assists.
Aston Villa- 62 games, 10 goals and 8 assists
Vitesse- 51 games, 20 goals and 7 assists
Ajax- 39 games, 13 goals and 6 assists
Istanbul- 18 goals 3 goals and 1 assist.
Chelsea- 16 games, 4 goals and 1 assist.

Burkina Faso- 74 apps, 17 goals and 5 assists.

Total- 376 appearances, 100 goals and 41 assists.

It's not like he's been playing in poor leagues, either. Turkey for a half a season on loan and 3 seasons in the Eredivisie for Vitesse/Ajax. Would be quality up here.

We really need to pull the trigger on Albert Grønbæk as a future replacement for Matt O'Riley, when the inevitable happens.
He is gonna go in this window and will be out of our reach after that. 9 million might do the trick, plus the example of Matt

If it took 10 million to get Denkey it would still be a bargain. It’s just like Ivan Toney. We paid 9 for eduard years ago we should be testing cerele brugge

I'd be all for signing Denkey for £9m/£10m... absolute no doubt in my mind he would come and rip it up here.

I think it's unlikely we pay that sort of fee again, though. I bet it remains the record bid for quite some time.

In reality, we don't really need to pay that sort of fee right now. We just need to be building up to it where we can pay that sort of fee regularly, like Salzburg, Anderlecht and Feyenoord do.

I still think we are a long way from that, unfortunately.
