    Tabled our first offer :56:

    * me. If we have been tracking him for months and he is our first choice, surely we get the offer in on the 1st of January to try and get him in the door as quickly as possible. If we are only just putting our first offer on the table, you can almost guaranteed this will rumble on til the last few days of the window. Absolute * hour again. Run by folk who have no idea what to do with money in the bank to progress the club.

    * bullshit, just pay the * price.

Get Lawell out if this * club.

Lowballing a club who want a low offer anyway. Shock * horror. If this Anges first season here he'd have been in the door already.

What sort of * message does that send to the player an' all? My club value me at a measley 2.5 but Celtic won't pay it? I'd be looking at offers from clubs who are willing to pay the * going rate, as its tangible * proof they want me to be a starter.

I * hate the way we've slid back to this * bullshit.

You think he's the only player we've been tracking or enquired about, and just decided to not put a bid in til now for * and giggles? He won't have been our top target, just like Palma wasn't in the summer.

Anyone having John McGinn deja vu?:31:

Would you rather we were in for a player that was so * nobody else was scouting him? Really don't think other teams looking at a player is something to wind yourself up about, most half-decent players will have interest registered from a few teams when they're making a move.

You know this aye? Cause we haven’t really been linked with any other winger. We have only known since the summer we need a keeper, left back and defensive midfielder to be fair. Any chance of these positions being rectified you think?

Agree, I'd be worried if it was only us - especially at that price.
But if we are (once again, thus McGinn reference) low balling and hesitant we open the door to others and risk losing a player we have taken time scouting, discussing and have now targeted for little no little financial gain.

He's only involved in our imagination mate.

Besides, for all the grief the club get for supposedly negotiating, you would struggle to find a club in world football that just pays the asking price first time. I'm sure every team has stories of players they missed out on due to penny pinching.

I have no idea, and neither do you. We do most of our business quietly, we don't release our targets to the press, even the last few years when we've had stuff done quick from the japan, the first news/rumours of it came from leaks over that end, not ours.

I really don't understand people on here assuming because there's no ITK links to xyz player that our recruitment staff must literally be sitting with their feet up doing nothing, it's absolutely absurd.

We done our business quickly when Lawwell wasn’t involved. Coincidence?

I think our slow transfer business is down more to Ange’s absence than Lawwell’s involvement.

Is it a manager thing then? Ange had all our targets lined up. Infact he personally said who to get from Japan so we got them. Rodgers doesn't have that. I'm sure if he did we'd go for it.

When he wasn’t involved we done it slowly up until Ange read the riot act as well

Ange I think had 2-3 options for every position and would quickly move on to the next if his priority one wasn't happening.

That was 4, maybe 5 signings from a large number of guys that were signed.

Kyogo, Hatate, Maeda, Ideguchi and Iwata were all his signings. Kobayashi wasn't. We signed a large number of players outwith the guys from Japan and I doubt they were Ange signings.

It's not a coincidence, it's a myth, even under Ange we were signing players the full length of the window, only guys from Japan and AJ were in for the start of the window from leagues that had already finished.

The only other player I would say that was done rapid is O'Riley, after the McGree deal fell through, but again it's not like he just fell out of the sky, we'd have been tracking him for ages and he'd have been aware of the interest, along with other players we've heard nothing about.
