The level of opposition for a player joining us is far lower than the level of opposition in the Championship.

Hooper smashed League 1 and the Championship, hence why it was a no brainer that he’d come here and do the same.

Moussa was 19 when he joined. 15 in 43 is excellent in the Championship for a 19 year old.

Both shown they can do it against tougher opponents so both were proven. You’re confusing yourself.

 

17 in 46 including cups, which includes scoring against another championship club.

 

Flip side is Teemu Pukki come here and simply couldn’t cope. Went down to the Championship and absolutely tore it up.

 

The Championship in England gets vastly overrated.

 

Maybe we didn't coach him properly or utilise his skills or by the time he went to Norwich he had matured as a player and was able to score. He also got double figures in the PL twice, loads of really expensive strikers struggle to do that.

The Championship is over rated, it probably is one of the best second tiers though, but I think if someone has a good season knocking in 20 there then they would more than likely do well in Scotland.

This thread confuses me, should it be like general celtic player chat.

 

Pukki didn’t have the mental strength to succeed here in my opinion. There’s a massive difference between playing for Norwich and a club like Celtic. Some players are cut out for it, some aren’t up to it.

 

Do think a lot of players from outside scotland do underestimate the pressure to win here massively, because we're not exactly a top league, always have to give it to Ronny for being honest enough to come out and say he really didn't get it until he was stuck in the middle, even with us being such a well known club in general he wasn't prepared for the reality of it.

That was one season of being in and out the team. He played 1196 minutes in 26 games. Thats an average of 46 minutes a game.

He went to Brondby first and regained his confidence and that has smashed it every since, even in the Premiership so saying the Championship is overrated doesn’t justify it.

You’ve mentioned mental strength which again doesn’t have anything to do with the level of both leagues.

If its a choice of Miovski and Shankland, its Miovski im wanting.

Guy still has a really good goal record in a team that has struggle and stuttered this season, has scored in big games including vs Rangers and has added goals in europe.

I know Shankland has done similarly, but I think Miovski at 24 could yet improve and his value increase.

Surrounded in a team of better players that creates more chances, he will score more goals.
