Would have been better to have gotten him involved in the team

 

Was thinking about this today. You just know for a fact he's gonna leave for Italy and turn into a * goal machine. 30 million quid worth within 5 year. But not good enough to get a few minutes in Scotland

Really poor management again.

 

Well from what we know he knocked a contract back and saw his future elsewhere. That's probably why he hasn't been involved.

 

He * himself over and wasted a year if the rumours of him not signing a deal without first team assurances are true.

Should have got his head down and worked for it, he only has to look as far as his captain and our longest serving player to see you don’t just saunter into a Celtic first team.

 

And get we've had Tillio, Yang and Mikey Johnstone in this season. We as a club should have put ego aside and gave him a shot

 

Whether he'd signed a contract or not if he is good enough to improve what we've had on the bench surely he should have been in the squad.

I don't really know if he is good enough, but we've had a few scrappy benches so suspect he could have been used.

Used to be that even unhappy players got put on if it benefitted the team. We've not really got any benefit from him being in the Colts this year.

 

Yeah cause we’ve been known for giving our young academy players a chance, don’t blame him for wanting some assurances.

He just needs to look at Hickey, Doig, Ferguson and how they’ve done in Serie A and other players who have went abroad and been given a chance.

We should be more than capable of winning whilst giving youth a chance. How else do we know if they’re good enough?

Watching the Liverpool Arsenal game on Sunday, and at 0-0 they bring on 2 kids and win 2-0. I think they’ve also started promoting players into their first team quite well, with Harvey Elliot, Curtis Jones and Jarrel Quansah getting a lot more game time.

We need to do better and until that changes I don’t blame younger players for leaving.

 

i’m sorry but nobody that signs with us never mind an 18 year old wee guy in the B team should have an assurances of playing time at a club our size.

Earn it through your performance and training.

 

You’re being naive if you think players don’t sign with playing expectations. It won’t be as direct as I will play every game no matter what but they’ll be given assurances that they’re signing as a key player, etc.

We don’t know what Vata has asked for in assurances but if he’s asked to be given opportunities, I don’t see the issue with that.

He’s clearly performing in the B team and he’s been decent whenever I’ve seen him play. No idea how he trains, so can only go off that. So why hasn’t he been given more opportunities?

Again, until we give youth the chance more regularly we will always continue to lose them.

 

Got not insight about the politics of his absence / agent / family influence

What I will say having used my eyes is he looks like a slightly better MJ

 

He shouldn't be guaranteed a start or anything like that but there are many games where we will have games tied up with 20min or so left and id much rather see youth get a go rather than bringing guys like Forrest off the bench.

It feels like there really isn't much point in the B team set up when there is appears to be such a gulf between doing well in B team games and getting on our bench

We need to use our youth, we're going to be * in a couple years for homegrown

 

I'm quite happy to slate thd clowns running our club but the lad will disappear into oblivion

 

Even if he does fail, and I think he'll do well. We need to promote our youth.

We currently only have 5 club grown in our UEFA 25 man squad. And we need a min of 4 or the slots go to waste

Forrest is pretty passed it at that level we can all agree.
McGregor has a few good years left still.
Mikey is not it.
Ralston is good at SPL level
Welsh is a good backup CB level.


Only 1 of our current club grown is a bonafide first teamer. Out current crop of loanees out, none of them look likely to be a Tierney or a CalMac kind of player for us.

Our best youth talents have been poached away without getting a chance at us either because they're getting bought too early (Doak) or were not getting them involved soon enough.

Business wise it would be an amazing call, basically infinite value if they make it, our record sale was Tierney until Jota.

We can't rely on other clubs for the other league grown either, it's currently

Turnbull

All of whom it's generally agreed we need to improve on.

 

Bit similar to Karamoko Dembele for me he seemed to get better the more he never got in squads

Problem is we have clowns like mcmanus odea coaching them

We need thd best coaches not ex players

We don't seen to be able to recruit the best youngsters which us criminal

 

Can't say that 100%. A lot of young players moving abroad now and doing well
