For the two players, £6m apparently what Hearts want for Shankland and £3m for McKenna a stab in the dark, think he only has 6 months left on his contract though has he not? Be significantly less than that I think, if it is 6 months

He’d definitely strengthen the squad IMO but right now I’d have Scales and CCV first choice.

And think it’s one or the other Scales and McKenna. Two left footed players at CB * up the balance majorly, weirdly far more than two right footed CB’s. But one left footed and one right footed, who are good on the ball is such a bonus. McKenna is good on the ball as well, but I don’t have him infront of Scales.

Which is mental when you reflect on where Scales has ended up this year. He’s held the defence together majorly. But having someone chasing his place in the team, competition, will only make the first team guys better and better all round in case of injuries. If he wants £30k a week, we can afford that aye but it’s no worth it

I'd rather we had him than the Huns as he definitely strengthens them...

We have such a vast difference in resources that it shouldn’t be a concern whatever they do. Can’t be dishing out £30k a week to a guy just so they * can’t get him.

I’m convinced that’s why we signed Seigrest and the * been on holiday since we did. Then they actually signed somebody far superior than him with Butland. McKenna’s not a league winning signing. Improves them and would be decent option here, but he’s no a Kyogo or O’Riley type decisive player. Or CCV probs a better comparison. Or a Van Dijk of we go back a bit

I want him here cos he is a solid and reliable player mate who loves the Hoops as we all do. Him, with CCV and Scales fighting for a place can only be good news for us.

If the Huns snap him up I will be * cos he walks into their team and immediately improves them.

    I say bring him home...

Worth being one of our top earners? £30k is the rumoured wage he wants. He’ll get that off a top Championship team as we’ll definitely so it’ll take that unless he’s that desperate to be here he’ll accept at least half that.

I’m not against signing him, I like him as a player and would prefer that to Lagerbielke or Nawrocki from what I’ve seen so far. But not as a top earner, automatic starter

I'm assuming about £4.5 mill each is what we would need to pay to get them

McKenna has 6 months left on his contract. £4.5m would be nowhere near the fee, particularly cos they seem to be wanting to shift him off the wage bill. Be £1.5m/£2m even if that.

And that fee will get lower and lower the further into January he’s still there

There is absolutely no chance the club pay £3m for McKenna.

There is absolutely no chance anyone paYs £3m for McKenna.

I highly doubt he’s demanding £30k a week either. We won’t pay that for him but I can see us making him a higher earner.

Guys surrounded by Premiership players, £30k down there will seem a poor wage. Can’t be too many guys down there on less than that.

Reading through comments, I was actually unaware McKenna had 6 months left on his contract.

Still don't think he's really going to be all thay cheap for wages and of we want him immediately Forrest will likely be asking for at least a £1mill surely.

Then include wages and he ain't coming here for less than £25k a week.

Other than homegrown status I honestly don't see how McKenna and Shankland take us up a level

Think Lagerbielke’s definitely on his way out, been too many grumbles about that being the case

Hearts want £5m apparently, someone rated him at €6m maybe that's where people are getting their figures from.. McKenna will be a small fee too with 6 months left on his contract.. wages are the issue, no doubt..

Honestly as much thought as I’ve put into them through boredom, I don’t think either are coming here. McKenna I think we enquired and with the wages swiftly moved on now. Can’t see either here this window.

EDIT: opened facebook directly after this to an article saying we lead the race for McKenna:56:

McKenna, I'd definitely take.. we need Scottish players for the squad. And he's currently better than Nawrocki and Lagerbielke.. maybe they will eclipse him eventually..

He’s one of those I’d be happy signing but not bothered about losing out on. But he makes sense, and being Scottish and helpful for the homegrown stuff adds more to that

I wouldn't say he's better than Nawrocki. We've not seen enough of him for that to be the case.
Anytime he's featured he's been solid (except for giving the FK to Tavpen).
He may grow into the role. He may not.
Either way, I think he deserves more a chance than what he's getting, and CB shouldn't be a priority for us right now. We're out of Europe, desperately need a winger, a LB, and a striker.

Daily Rangers saying we lead the race to sign McKenna and are trying to get him on loan.

Guess he's signing for the zombies then.
