Linked with Brighton and Palace last season for £20m, wonder what happened.

That’s if it’s him, is it more likely to be their B team left back Joao Mendes? Who has had a few games for their first team this season but is out of contract in the summer.

Yeah just had a look on their forum and he isn’t highly rated, 1 assist & 7 goals in 121 games. Looks decent in the videos but you know what people say about that.

DR (I know) has Verona ‘ready to compromise on their asking price’ for Doig, with the Huns interested. Surely tf we can beat them to signing him?

Doig is a decent player going forward - not sure defensively

Looks a bit awkward in his style, almost Bolingoli-esque.

They want about £5m. Huns wont be signing him they don't have the money. Same as what I've been told about Shankland, one of my few ITK sources which I never claim to have!

theuve offered Lowry and devine with £0 cash as a deal for Shankland which as you would expect has been chucked out by Hearts. Know someone that works within them.

Unless they somehow find it from somewhere as they often seem to do.

How has he got on over there btw? I forgot all about him. He has the sort of physical stature I want but I didn’t really rate him as much as he was getting talked up when he was at Hibs.

But I thought the same with Hickey at Hearts, and after he returned from Italy I rate him very highly. It’s a good league to develop in if you’re playing in it as a young guy. Especially defensively

To me, he’s worth that to us. Nationally trained for the CL quota, good crosser, good tackler, tall, fast and strong. No brainer at that price, to tie down a position that - KT aside - has persistently troubled us since Izzy’s first season.

Think he's done ok but nothing mental, like Hickey. Hence why he can leave for only a couple more million than they bought him for.

The difference in Hickey before and after playing in Italy, for me at least, was * wild.

Defensively how much he improved in that period is one of the biggest jumps in quality I’ve seen, and it’s the very Italian style of defending space and angles, and forcing guys to play in areas they don’t want to be in. Whereas before I thought he was quite weak defensively.

Was quite jarring, because I didn’t see him in the time inbetween when he was actually playing in Italy - was Hearts and then when he was in the Premiership.

See when we were linked with both before they moved I always wanted Hickey more, you could tell he had a lot to improve on but seemed a very intelligent footballer and that has served him well during his career to be able to develop further.

Doig I haven’t seen any of in Italy although there is a guy on X who seems to know his Serie A football very well and he rates him. The thing for me was I can only really remember Doig getting absolutely terrorised by Frimpong. No shame in that as time has proven but he never really stood out to me.

In fact the best I remember him playing was a 0-0 at Easter Road in Ange’s first season where they went ultra defensive and he played left centre back in a back 5 but broke out a couple of times.

He certainly has a good physical profile.

Doig would be decent but can't see us spending £5 million on him.
