Don’t like how he behaves when we’re winning. Constantly seems to engage in extreme sympathy with the opposition. Been a bit more reserved since he signed up with Sky

I thought his opinions against Rangers were very unfair at the weekend. He called so many things wrong including the Bernardo incident.

I can't believe he fought against that decision tonight. Red cards don't come any clearer.

Old school opinion, about no malice or not meant, doesn’t matter a * it’s dangerous as * and a well deserved red. And probably would still have been even Sutton’s day

Not sure that an uncontrolled boot to the face studs first has ever been legal.

Never has been but even in the early 2000’s a lot of shocking tackles were a booking when they’d be a big ban these days. Intent was a big thing in Suttons day.

He knows better than it being it now though, he was talking * but it’s one of old school reactions.

I'm 46 and I see it the same as him. I think there isn't the time or the cognitive resources to process everything in that situation (such as the fact that Hart is stooping). He'd have to remove the aggression from his game to avoid any possibility of that situation happening again, which would make him much less effective given his physicality. He definitely bends his leg away at the last second when he finally registers where Hart is, wehich lessened the impact (luckily for Hart!).

I can see the opposing point of view and maybe it is a red in the rules now; but it just seems a bit unfair to me. I'd honestly have been happier with a yellow.

He studs him square in the jaw mate. It’s a red, dangerous play but that sorta stuff happens in football and it’s a danger of the sport.

But the age range is similar to Sutton and that’s the way it used to be, I know where the opinions coming from but it is a red every day of the week.

Last two games he's commentated on, he's been quite "sympathetic" shall we say to the opposition. More hinting that Celtic are getting the rub and favoured decisions.

Not liking that side of him, seems to be a toeing of the line with Sky.

Perhaps I've caught two games he's commentated on where it's been unusual, but I hope this isn't the trend he goes down, much the same as your Andy Walkers and the rest who go out of their way to distance their background in favour of getting ahead at sky.

I guess it's always a compromise between safety and aggression and different generations might have different ideas about where to draw that line. :39:

Definitely been told to watch what he says whilst fat boyd says what he likes. Thought Sutton was made of better stuff than that

He says what he wants, anytime that rubs us up the wrong way as well * say this. He wouldn’t be the only Celtic fan grumbling in December.

I'm older and don't really recall a time when studs first was ok. Might just be my memory.

@Liam Scales, similar for Suttons time studs first wasn't something I ever recall being tolerated, makes the whole intent argument irrelevant, you could never overreach like that as it's just lunging and dangerous is how I remember it.

In just kick about football I played in, a tackle like that wasn't tolerated, at all.

Until now I agree, he had always been honest regarding our frailties or issues but his tone has seemed to have changed a bit. Hopefully it's just a settling in period with new pundits

This was judged a booking in the 2010 World Cup final.

And between 2000 and 2010 there was a major difference in what physicality was allowed.

Honestly in my memory it wasn’t too much different back then, go back and watch MON’s team playing and * me, major difference.

He'd have got lamped in any game I played in for that, colour of card wouldn't have come into it. What can I say we didn't tolerate such violent behaviour :39:

It's not about whether it's OK or not. No one is saying it's OK. It's about whether it is a yellow or a red.

I thought that was a red even back then. His leg is straight.
