True, but as MJ demonstrated they do need a football brain. Technique, Workhorse, Brain… we won’t get all 3 at Celtic, well not for more than one season.

Aye frustrating player. We're saying maybe take injuries into consideration when we know that makes no difference to his technical play, lol.

I do love his attitude though, his running is amazing, but he's honestly how I perceived big Bolt would have been as a player.

Those crosses are just common occurrence now.

Glad he scored today. First time in ages that he's looked a threat.

Goal aside didn’t do much for me again. Keeper probably should have had it too was right at him when Maeda should’ve picked a side, just no composure at all.

Aye he was quite poor again. Can't recall him running at their full back with the ball at his feet. Just constantly turned and passed backwards.

He was still poor overall, let's be honest.

Better but still feel we don't carry as much of a threat with him out there.

Weird player who the poorer the opposition, the worse he looks. Throw him in for Japan against World Class opposition and he has a real impact on the game, yet against someone like Livingston he can go missing and struggles to beat a man!

Still a very useful player to have, with a unique skill set.

He was far better than Palma, who seemed to give it away almost every time he touched it by trying a World Cup pass. We all know Maeda is limited, I’m never disappointed to see him in the starting eleven though.

He doesn't trust his own pace to drive and go by the full back. The full back was terrified of him and let's be honest he hit the shot right at the goalie.

All his best attacking work is in a central position..

He is an extremely useful player to have at our disposal for certain games but I suspect/hope he’ll be utilised less from the start if/when we sign a right winger which really needs to be this window if we’re to push on.

Against * teams there's less space offered so composure, judgement and clinical finishing come to the fore - definitely not his strengths. Where he excels is that he terrifies them that they've lost him, that he's getting behind them and that he never stops - this usually pulls defences about, to the benefit of others.

Japan play him in a different way to us, so he's more relaxed and less rushed. He loves that, and performs well for them. I'm just hoping he brings his full confidence back after the Asian Cup and performs for our run-in

    * poor yesterday, did take his goal well in fairness. Just seems to run about aimlessly when they had the ball. And that was one of his strengths before.

He's just * poor at football. Finish was the most Maeda finish ever. I wish I could like him but I genuinely need therapy for how much he annoys me lol.

It’s so weird that just having him in the team, the rest of the teams suddenly moving more, far less static up top, interchanging…

Like I know he brings a * of a lot of energy himself, but it affects the full team. Go back look at the games he was injured, the lethargic play and static positions are noticeably a massive difference.

Last two games not played particularly well, one probably could get labelled shocking, got a guy sent off and scored an early goal in what could have been a * of a game without it. He always, always has an impact. I’m weirdly zen bout him
