He might thrive in a better team than Verona, but whenever I've seen him play in Serie A he's been anonymous. We need HG players and a LB, so he ticks those two boxes.

Linked with the huns but asking price about £6M and still only 21. Reckon he’ll make move to down South or a bigger Italian team.

Fabio Carvahlo been recalled by Liverpool because he wasn’t getting games at Leipzig. They want to loan him out again with some guarantees on game time.

Would be class as an 8 here

Don’t want any players we need to play regardless of form.

A few players who I think would be good value for us and from teams that have done well in Europe this season.

Qarabag- Azerbaijani Champions have made the last 32 of Europa taking care of Hacken and Molde to do so. Also took a strong Leverkusen team to the 94th minute to break them down with a penalty.

One player who runs the game for them is Brazilian centre midfielder Julio Romao. He plays predominately as a defensive midfielder but has a good mix of defensive awareness, tackling, interceptions etc, blended with good press resistance, ball carrying and forward passing. Looks to have good mobility and a decent build. Ferencvaros have been linked with him and they are normally good at picking up talented players from obscure leagues.

Both their full backs also seem like good players. Elvin Cafarqulieyev 23 year old (left back) and Toral Bayramov 22 year old full back who is left footed but plays either side.

Bayramov is a very skillful full back with a cracking left foot and creates a lot of chances. Has a build similar to Elhamed who we had a couple of seasons back. Despite being left footed he has played more on the right, probably because Cafarqulieyev is the main man on the left for Qarabag and Azerbaijan. That versatility could make him a useful player and he does seem to be a very creative player from full back with 8 assists and 3 goals in 17 games. He didn’t feature as much in the Europa games as the other full back.

Cafarqulieyev is more your KT style full back from an attacking point of view, direct running, likes to get to the byline get the ball over or cut backs. Also has a good footballing brain to link up with team mates in those situations to work 2v1s or 3v2s. Has a decent physical build at around 5’10 but fairly solid looking, with a great engine and pace to burn. He appears to be their national team left fullback too.

Ludogrets- of Bulgaria, it is a poor league but they got out a conference group eliminating Fernebache. Two players catch the eye with them Jakob Piotrowski, a 26 year old centre midfielder, over 6ft tall, with a nice weight of pass and a hammer of a right foot, he is also their captain and in the Polish National Squads.

Bernard Tekpetey is a 26 year old right winger with bags of pace and despite being short has a strong build which makes him good in 1v1 dribbles. He is also a decent finisher of either foot.

    Nordsjaelland -
have a host of quality players and probably the best of them are too well known. However, Mohamed Diomande is a player who brings a high level of stamina, good physicality and creativity to a midfield. He is also in the last year of his deal and probably under the radar enough compared to their most sellable assets.

Sturm Graz, they have been demanding bigger fees for players but Alexander Prass is a cracking box to box left sided midfielder. Much like Riedler though we would likely be priced out a move there. An interesting bosman would be Georgian midfielder
Otar Kieteishvili, 27 so in his peak but a very creative player who also scores his share of goals and is comfortable operating either as an 8, 10 or even an inverted winger.

Legia Warsaw, done ok with signings from there in the past and their keeper has been mentioned as someone of good potential is centre midfielder Bartoz Slisz. He had some great games in the ECL including against Villa. A high energy player who plays like a younger days Scott Brown, aggressive, great stamina and game awareness.

Suggested him a few times over the past couple years and I think @Liam Scales has too! But this is the type of big pat Vieira type midfielder I want.

Still at Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

He’s pretty much my Holy Grail at this point :56:

Anyone any idea how much Kevin Denkey at Cercle Brugge would cost?

Dybala, who is currently on over 100k a week? You’ve been playing too much career mode mate.

He’ll stay at Roma or end up at somewhere like Atletico or Villa.

They bought him for €2m which is a lot for them so I'd imagine they'll want a good fee.

I can see him inevitably being linked with the huns.

At least £10m I would suspect.

They sold Ueda to Feyenoord for £9m in the summer there after he scored 23 goals for them and Denkey is on course to absolutely smash his goal scoring record there from last year. Think he's already on 17 for this season alone.

Put it in the Nicholas Kuhn thread

Marco Grüll (25) Austrian international at Rapid Vienna, he's out of contract at the end of the season 12 goals 6 assists this season in 23 games.

Primarily a left winger but plays right and CF as well.

    Career stats of
298 appearances 118 goals 66 assists (including youth time in those stats)

At Rapid in the last 3 years 116 apps 37 Goals 26 Assists

He'd be a better signing than Kuhn. Kinda what I've been at in his thread, you've got at least 3 or 4 seasons of established form so it's less likely to be a flash in the pan.

Players coming to the end of their contracts in 2024 that we should be keeping an aye on.

    Bertrand Traore

Still gets the odd game for Aston Villa but has been out for some of this season with an injury. At 28, he could come in and be a Scott Sinclair type signing, offering some direct, fast dribbling and some experience that we need. He's been about a bit, starting in the Chelsea u21 squad before moving to Vitesse and Ajax on loan, securing a permanent deal to France, with Lyon and then getting a big money move back to the Premier League with Aston Villa. He also had a loan spell with Tranzonspor when at Villa, last season. Always seemed to get minutes wherever he has been with over 300 appearances, scoring 88 goals and providing 40 assists. Will be a hard one to negotiate with wages but at 28 years old, he might be looking to kickstart the final part of his career.

    Federico Redondo

So many of us have spoke about this lad before. Son of the famous Fernando Redondo, he's going to get his move to Europe and really take off. Playing for Argentina Jrs, and at just 20 years of age, he has already played nearly 60 times, now one of the first names on their teamsheet. Plays as a defensive midfielder, controlling the tempo of the game and breaking up play but his on the ball ability is incredible. When you watch him, it's like watching a young Rodri. Both are tall, almost gangly looking but very similar in their general play. His contract isn't up until the end of the next Argentinean season, in December 2024 but no reason why we can't go in with a bid in the summer and test their resolve. He's already worth £9m on transfer market but he won't go for anywhere near that, not with less than 6 months on his deal come the summer.

    Ben Johnson

RB/CB for West Ham. A strange one. Doesn't seem to be favoured at all for West Ham right now and always looked very good when I've seen him. Not sure if there are injury issues but there isn't anything on him this season, he just hasn't been favoured. 23 years old, coming to the end of his time with West Ham with no option to extend currently. He's made over 90 appearances for West Ham, at the age of just 23. Played most of his games at RB for them but he also has that physicality to play at CB, which is where I would be sticking him. He's strong, hard in the tackle and he would be the ideal replacement for CCV, when he inevitably moves on. Again, coming from the Premier League means wages will be an issue but he didn't sign a new deal until 2020, when he moved up from the u21s. No new deal has been signed since then which makes me think that wages wouldn't be as big a problem as they would be with other players. There are rumours he's currently on £20k a week, which would mean there is no reason why we couldn't be in the mix to get him up here on a pre-contract. One to keep an eye on.

    Ryan Gauld

Another one who we have all probably heard of or seen others mention before, but the 'Scottish Messi' has really kicked on since he left Sporting Lisbon for Farense in 2019. Playing as an attacking midfielder but also being able to operate slightly deeper as a number 8, he's exactly the sort of player we should be bringing in to fill that 'Mooy role', At 28 years old now, he's as experienced as they come and his numbers are not to be laughed at. Since leaving Sporting Lisbon he has played for Farense, where he scored 20 goals and registered 12 assists in 70 games for them, in the Primera Liga and then got his moved to Canada with Vancouver, where he has excelled again, scoring 26 goals and assisting his team-mates 29 times in 94 games. Another one who's contract will be up at the end of 2024 and the end of the MLS season, it should be a similar story to Redondo. Get to the summer and sign this guy for buttons. He's valued at £7m but would he want to give up that lifestyle to come back home and to play for the club he's always wanted to? Only he can answer that but he should not be overlooked.

    Ivo Grbic

27 year old Goalkeeper for Atletico Madrid and understudy to Jan Oblak. He's not had it great since he went to Spain. After excellent performances in Croatia with NK Lokomotiva, he got his big move to Madrid in 2020. Since then, he has only played a handful of times for Madrid, with a successful enough loan spell at Lille the following season (21/22 season), where he played the majority of the games in France as their number 1. Since returning to Madrid in 2022, he's had another season as understudy to Oblak, where he made 13 appearances last year while Oblak was out injured. So far this season, he hasn't made a single first team appearance. He has been on the bench for nearly all of their games and he remains their clear No. 2. He has also made 2 appearances for Croatia and is regularly called up to the National Squad as Livakovics No. 2. He hasn't been making the most recent international squads and that might make him sit up and take notice about the lack of game time.

    Gijs Smal

Another I've seen mentioned on here. Was a late bloomer I'd say. He's 26 years old now. He has played 104 times for FC Twente since he signed from Volendam in 2020. Played over 100 times in the Dutch 2nd Division with Volendam, which got him is big move to Twente, in the Eredivisie. Playing as a left back, he's excellent going forward, with 18 assists and 4 goals in 104 appearances for Twente. Missed a large part of the start of this season with a calf injury but he's back playing nearly every minute for Twente this season as they try and break the stranglehold of the big 4 in Holland. They currently sit 3rd in the table, 9 points ahead of Ajax and competing very well with both AZ and Feyenoord. PSV, are absolutely running away with it. One to keep an eye on for. Would add that bit of experience at 26 years old.

    Dennis Praet

An easy one to link, given he was signed by Rodgers at Leicester in 2019. He's one we should be all over, especially with the link that already exists between player and manager. Can play as an attacking midfielder but played deeper mostly, in an 8 role. Would work well for him here as our 8s basically play as attacking mids anyway. He's tenacious as well, loves a challenge and a slide tackle. At 29 years old, he's another who could come in and give us that bit of experience in the midfield. He has a lot of experience, 182 games for Anderlecht, 106 games for Sampdoria, 93 games for Leicester and 24 games for Torino on a loan deal last year. He's also scored 37 goals in the 300 odd games he has played from midfield and registered 55 assists in that time. He's also played 15 times for Belgium, scoring 2 goals. Obviously, he hasn't made the squads in recent times and I suspect that time of his career is over but he will want to come somewhere and win something. We can provide that.

    Oliver Torres

I'd suggest he's probably the most unlikely one from this list, given he's still playing for Sevilla and is pretty much a first team player for them. However, at 29 years old, Sevilla might want to move him on and allow a new manager a greater wage budget for next season. Sevilla are really struggling in La Liga this year, sitting in 15th place and are only 3 points from the relegation zone. He's a winner though and a winner for a team who are notorious for their European exploits. He's a 2 time Europa League winner with Sevilla, a La Liga champion with Atletico Madrid, a Portuguese champion with Porto. He's also managed to change his game. Dropping deeper and dictating play from the base of midfield, a bit like McGregor has done over the years. I suspect he will sign a new deal with Sevilla, at least a year extension and even if he doesn't, I'd hazard a guess someone outside of the big 3 in Spain will pick him up for free... a Betis, Valencia or Villareal.

    Julian Carranza

23 year old striker playing for Philadelphia Union. Really kicked on since moving to the Union since his move from Inter Miami. He was loaned out twice after Miami paid nearly £6m for him in 2019. He was loaned back out to Argentina with Banfield and then he was loaned out to the Union before signing with them permanently for just £500k. He's got excellent stats at 23, with over 170 appearances, scoring 47 goals and registering 22 assists. He's also just come off a very strong season for the Union, with 18 goals and 13 assists in 45 games this season. Seems to always find space in the box and a typical striker, always seems to be placed where the ball ends up. At 23 years old, he would be able to really kick on somewhere like here. He's also played twice for Argentina u23 team. Another one from North/South America where the season runs differently and wouldn't be available on a free until December 2024. Again, get to the summer and see what sort of bid they would accept. Valued at £6m, right now but wouldn't be anywhere near that.
