It was a decent strike but a good keeper saves it.
A keeper like, for example, Fraser Foster, will 100% save a shot from that distance.

 

Should've remembered Tavpen doing the same thing against him last season and anticipated the strike.

 

No offence mate, but it was a * FANTASTIC strike... I know it's them, and nobody likes that, but if it was our goal we'd be going on about it all season (as they probably will!)

Thought all 3 goals today were brilliant pieces of football! Thought we were damned unlucky not to get a couple more, but for small margins/sloppy play

 

It was also an obvious strike.

 

Could he have done a bit better, sure... Not sure he's stopping it, even if he got a hand to it though... Sometimes, even the obvious ones are done so well there's not much you can do... That * is just * DANGEROUS from that kinda position/range... He was just as likely to hit the OTHER top corner...

Thank * he's a terrible defender, or he'd actually be worth a good few Bob for them!

 

I always wonder would free takers score these goals if there was no wall at all in front of them.

I dont agree. The goal the boy scored in the Hearts game yesterday was a fantastic strike, and very few keepers would have saved it. That strike yesterday was decent but I suspect that every EPL keeper gets to it.

Forster’s the only one I’d 100% say would. Boruc could but he also does some mad * like when Ehiougo scored an overhead kick against him, cos Boruc tried to make the save look fancy and missed the * ball.

Gordon * knows, he could he has the ability for some incredible saves but was also the most error prone * since Rab Douglas, and was quite rightfully benched for Bain at one stage, and we were happy to see that change.


We need better than him 100% but we forgot some * howlers from ones better than him.

Can’t remember a Forster one ataw though, he got sent off against them once ig that counts haha

 

Needed to use both hands, was a good strikebut should be getting saved was always going that side

 

He made a few good saves yesterday but I thought the set up for the wall was wrong. I really hope this is his last season with us (as first choice).

Hopeless. Got to know your opponent, and he has to know Tavernier is going over the wall. He had tried it not long before it and from that angle he is never going back across Hart. Few decent saves first half, but that’s what he is paid for. They weren’t saves he shouldn’t be making. The free kick is another example of why he should have been replaced in the summer. It’s not the first free kick this season that highlights his deficiencies either. Then when we are 2-1 up and trying to close the game out, he is running to try and get the ball as quickly as possible to get the game started quickly. * me, he is an experienced keeper. Take your time and waste 15/20 seconds.

 

His positioning at freekicks irritates me at times. He always covers the other side too much and has too much faith in the wall. He needs to be further over for me but you can't take anything away from the free kick. It's a * peach and he's absolutely melted it into net.

Made some big saves when we needed him too. Agree with @murphy88 above, also. He was rushing to take them restarted in the * 85th minute when it was 2-0 and we should have just been coasting to victory. Yes, we all want to play on thr front foot but sometimes you just need to take the sting out of the game. Burn the clock down for 30 seconds. Take a * yellow card if you have to.

 

Pretty sure McGregor had a word with him telling him to calm down. It was schoolboy stuff. It was 2-1 when I remember him doing it.

 

There was genuinely no need for it. Kill the game and take the wind out their sails. AJ, for all his pish play for the majority of the game, was taking longer for * throw ins than Hart was taking for bye kicks.

 

Aye I noticed that with Johnston. He was pish but at least he was using the head late in the game.
