The subsequent pages only bear out your point. Where is this confidence coming from? There's not much between us in terms of quality: both teams have some good players, some mediocre players and some bad players, we have home advantage; but they are in better form at the moment. This is 50/50.

I imagine some of the same people who are so sure they are dross now will absolutely lose the plot if we do lose too.

We need to show up and fight for this!

 

It will depend on where Palma plays, I suppose. Maeda is superhuman at times, but even he cannot cover both flanks at once.

 

This could be an absolute meltdown if we loose.
Rodgers will have his work cut out on this one.

 

With the state of their midfield there is absolutely zero excuse not to go out and pump them. As much as the football has been frustrating this season one thing I will give Rodgers is he always pulls it out the bag against them. Fully expect a comfortable win by 2 goals or more

 

This is the area where we can really exploit them. He’s not very good and Taylor has too much going forward for him to be able to handle. I’d play Maeda on the left to keep their RB in check.

 

The one thing that might work in our favour is that the huns are.likely to be play a more open game akin to our European games.

Problem is we can't allow them back in the game if Rodgers gets our guys playing close to how we did in our first game against Atletico.

If huns play with fear and sit deep and play a defensive game, it's gonna be a tough game because they will be looking to hit on counter by playing balls over our fullbacks and get.people like Sima and McCausland running.

 

If we win we have momentum back, if we lose it will be painful but still plenty of time to correct.

I expect us to win as we are at home and going by the league table the better team.

I also expect us to get better as the season goes on too, biggest worry is the AC.

 

It was mentioned on the 20 minute tims podcast that he should really be put back on the left side. He is good at nullifying Tavernier who is one of their most influential players.

At the time of scoring his first CL goal, he had temporarily shifted to the right, and we were troubling Atletico in that period of the game.

 

I think his pedigree suggests he is a good manager Clement, but it is worth remembering when GVB and Beale both started with them they had long runs of largely winning games.

Also to get 8 penalties in your first 8 league fixtures where at least half of those were very questionable and opposition be denied very similar ones including in a cup final does massively change the picture of where they could be.

Our own poor form has also made the picture more rosey. If we were consistent at all we would have maintained if not extended our gap. I do believe if we are to win this league it will require us sorting ourselves out rather than anything to do with them.

Tactically where it has been commented on before that Clement is limited, I have seen nothing to suggest otherwise, as he has continued with the same shape as Beale largely. He is meant to be a motivator and that is clear that they have more belief about them than before.

Personally, I think this is a must win for us tomorrow to break that sort of feeling they have of invincibility just now, despite playing poorly a lot of the time, they are still winning.

It reminds me a lot of GVB and their Europa run that season. As they won their EL group but were outplayed in Prague and by Betis but got a draw and a win. They were lucky not to lose at home to the Cypriot team if it wasn’t for a guy failing to head in from 2 yards out.

If we can force something to go against them it would be interesting to see how they respond.

 

If we lose Rodgers should go imo.
