I'd love to sign a striker who was a threat in the air. Amount of crosses into the box and * nothing coming of them.

True mate we don’t necessarily need another option to be pacey etc if we have one that is. Say Oh for example he’s not pacey and is bigger and more physical and we see the ball played into him a lot in the box and he scuffs it where as someone like shankland in them at scenario would be more likely to score or atleast hit the target. Packed defences usually call for a striker to be more of a target man, someone who can get to headers, hold up, and can finish if they get a half chance. We’re definitely not getting shankland as I think he’s going to the Huns but I wouldn’t turn my nose to a striker of a similar mould who’s proven in our league or one similar as a rotational option

Kyogo isn't playing the best just now. Service to him and the style we are playing is an issue. It isn't all on him.

Most teams are getting all their men behind the ball with us. He gets more time and space playing with Hearts. I don't necessarily think playing with us means he'll get more chances to score. Goals and chances are spread through our team unlike Hearts.

I don't think that when you do well with other Scottish clubs that you performances will automatically be the same with us.

Pace isn't everything, but it works for us and harms us too. A lot of our goals come through pace like Kyogo's chance he should have scored against Dundee. Shankland started a run a couple of yards offside last night and was still caught with ease. That wouldn't go down well with us.

I think he is a good player and good finisher. I neither think he's what we need or good enough for us.

It is odd that he doesn't get into the Scotland squad too often.

Scotland really lack strikers and Clarke doesn't pick him.

Fabio Silva signing for the orcs, unlikely to go for Shankland.

I, personally, would prefer SVH on loan with an option to buy. But I can see why people would want shankland.

I would prefer Bojan Miovski gets goals domestically and in Europe think he would be good for us is young enough to make money on aswell. Likes a goal against them aswell

Maeda is useful when he has space to run into and the ball is played ahead of him.
He has been less effective this season because in Rodgers style of play, by the time he gets the ball the defence has men behind the ball and he has to beat a man from a standing start. He doesnt have the technicality that Jota had, who could play in this system also i have no doubt.

Abada, albeit technically better on the ball - isnt know for beating a man with the ball but he likes to fome inside and shoot and his movement off the ball is good and he exploits the space in behind.

Kyogo has struggled with the less direct approach also, as by the time the ball is played to him, there is less space to exploit.

James Forrest no longer speaks to his brother for this very reason.

I'd like both. But it wouldn't happen.

SVH is the one I think we will sign.

Doesn't look prolific wherever he's been.

Hoping he's as good as their other strikers.

    Who is SVH?

    Hahaha of course!

I'm not sure if I'd want him over Shankland.

Shankland has proven he'd score goals in Scotland. SVH hasn't scored any goals in Italy, where Lewis ferguson has.

Huns getting Silva will spark a bit of panic in certain elements of the support.

There's no need to rush, but shouldn't be left to the last couple of days.

Quality is the order of the day.

Both him and Nisbet who ended up at Hibs were becoming free agents a few years ago. At the time I felt Celtic should have been taking them and shipping them out on loan. We should be taking players like that at any opportunity and loaning them out.

I think Shankland would be good but * me what a gut he has on him. When he runs it's like slo motion

Tbf for domestic duties, which Shankland would be used for more often than not, he doesn't need pace. He's proved that he can do that and should score a bucket load for a team like us domestically.
