If Shankland wasn't a known hun * I'd be all for snapping him up, even just to stop him going to they *. But I can't justify it off the back of him being a good spl striker. Would rather look for better value elsewhere.

Aye they need to earn their corn sharpish. Am sure there will be plenty on the scouting list bit they need to start getting them right. Even I'll start to lose patience if they * this window up.

I agree btw, he could do a very good job domestically. But he's a dyed in the wool mutant * who likes their Instagram stories.

He will inevitably go to Sevco. They'll push that over the line, bit by bit, * offer after * offer, and force it through the players desire to be a fully fledged zombie. It will be a "undisclosed fee", with a deal much like the Ryan Kent one, paid off in installments over YEARS.

But, just like the Korean we're now linked with, we shouldnt be anywhere near a player of his standard, given our immediate needs.

We've over 70m sitting in the bank, with a chance to make another 55m by winning the league, with a manager claiming he returned to oversee real European progression. Shankland isn't anywhere near a reality where that's true, maybe as a 3rd or 4th choice striker possibly.

 

Is the 55m a definite if we win the league and get CL? Mental money if so. I obviously want us to invest properly with or without that money but if that’s what we’re guaranteed then our board should be pushing the boat out to improve the squad to ensure it.

That 55m literally solves ALL their problems, and as I said in the Hun thread, you bet your balls they'd spend every penny of it they can spare on their team, unlike us, who seem to have the eternal * attitude that projects win prizes.

Next year's 55m should've been spent last window and this one. Ensuring the league, keeping the balance, and also keeping our foot on Sevcos throat for the foreseeable.

10m on Jotas replacement.
10m on a Left back.
10m on a CDM
10m on a striker.
The other 15 for the projects and squad competition.

Right there, that's the league won. Wouldn't even need to spend that amount, just ring fence it for actual * quality. The would've seen us possibly get out of that CL group too, further adding to the coffers.

Instead, we've two CB's at a combined 8.5m nowhere to be found, and are starting games with James Forrest, Mikey Johnston, and a south Korean project who doesn't know the offside rule.

Dermot Desmond is a * disgrace who needs chased out of this club right now.
