He's been weird this season. Not great but tbf he hasn't been as * as made out to be either...just ok.

There are some stats on him and his progressive passing is still excellent so feel like he's sort of stuck in a situation where he's doing the stuff expected of an inverted fb in the middle of the pitch while playing as a traditional fb.

 

No, he wasn’t; at least not significantly - and certainly not to the degree that @Officer Doofy rightly points out that we need in our full-backs.

Last year, he registered 1 goal and 1 assist in 13 league appearances. He has 0 and 0 in 14 this year. Hardly like he was setting the heather alight in an attacking sense. Frankly both of those sets of stats are unacceptable for a full-back in a team like Celtic in a league like ours.

And at least Rodgers wants his full-backs to overlap and directly attack, rather than an inverting and becoming midfield traffic a la under Ange.

 

Not very good again today. Lovely pass from deep in the first half and got forward a bit more at the start, but just drops out of the game.

 

Aye he was rotten today, our worst player by far.

Said it earlier, I'd be willing to give him the rest of the season to see if he can find his form, as we have other priorities this January window, but he's been absolutely shocking this season.

 

Don’t know what’s going on with him, very poor today.

 

If we had better option in midfield I'd be tempted to play Hatate at right back.

Also think that despite his mistake v bilbao in preseason Iwata has probably turned in best performances at rb

 

Ralston deserves a start

 

Since that injury he’s been a shadow of the player we saw 2nd half of last season. Give Tony a chance cause it’s not working for AJ at the moment.

 

Played a few early balls into Kyogo that's something he needs to continue..

 

Said it during the Hearts game, he seemed to escape criticism for a good while, but he's played very negatively this season.

Taylor gets plenty stick, but he's been far more productive that Johnston in recent times.

Need fullbacks who can offer more and are more well rounded.

 

Remember people argued he was better than juranovic, not a chance!

 

He was far better than juranovic last season.

 

To be fair, there's a reason why so many people are shocked by his form this season, and it's because of how good he was last season.

It was only for a few months, but he honestly looked like the perfect fullback for us. Quick, Strong, could attack and defend and was good with the ball.

Now? He can just about defend and that's it, he seems to have lost everything else.

It could be a purple patch, but he was 100% better than Juranovic last season.

 

I thought he was brutal in that second half. In general, he's not as bad as he was today; but he's just so average.

 

How do you even describe him? He's not fast; but he's not slow either. He's not tall (for a defender); but he's not short either. He's not strong; but he's not weak either. He's not paticularly technical; but he's not that bad either. He's not amazingly proactive; but he's not mega passive either. He's neither unusually bad nor unusually good at reading the game.

He's just so meh in almost every way.

 

I’m not too sure I agree with that, I thought Juranovic was brilliant and he was up against some outrageous talent in the Champions league. I felt he was worth 20m at times where i’ve never felt that way with Johnstone. Only time i thought he was honking was when he was played at Left back against the huns for the 2nd time.

He was definitely faster and better at hoing forward imo

 

He has fell off a cliff.

His use of the ball was embarrassingly bad. Underhits. Overhits. Can't find his man. Can't put in a decent cross..

Does everything but play good passes to teammates..
