    * sake, chances are he won’t go on to be a star for us just by percentages alone but a young guy in his teens getting loaned for gametime isn’t a write off.

It’s something we need to do more at a young age. Guys like Lawall the B team is already below his level, get him out at another level where he’ll be playing every week, be that a League 1 team he’s guaranteed to play, instead of a Championship that he’d be good enough to play in, but may not be guaranteed games.

Just seen he got young player of year at rovers. Probably exactly what we don't want but any chance he has shown enough with rovers to suggest Rodgers could utilise him as even 3/4 choice? Even maybe get him out to a Hibs or Aberdeen in January on loan

I would say Aberdeen or Hibernian might even be a stretch in terms of what his level is or will be. At best that is the level he might reach IMHO. Will never reach a level to play for us unfortunately IMHO.

Could offer him to the sheep if we make a bid for their striker.

Aberdeen will likely be asking for £4m for Miovski. They won't be replacing him with Kenny. They'll probably go out and find someone else for a decent fee. I'm sure they paid about £500k for Miovski, did they not?

Just thinking there, a wee bit offtopic but Aberdeen done some good business recently in transfers. Lot better numbers than most in the SPL.

    Scott McKenna ~£3mill
    Ross McCrorie ~£2mill
    Lewis Ferguson ~£2mill
    Calvin Ramsey ~£4mill
    Yiber Ramadani ~£1mill
    Sam Cosgrove ~£2mill

Ferguson genuinely one of the best mids in Serie A right now. But us and them of course think we are too good to sign other SP players. But think we are all that signing some random for 2.5m from Europe, who turns out *.

Let's be honest, a guy scoring 5 in 30 in LOI is nowhere near Aberdeen or Hibs level

Shamrock Rovers are close to agreeing a new loan deal for Celtic’s Ireland U21 striker Johnny Kenny.

The former Sligo Rovers player spent last season on loan to Rovers, scoring five times in 30 league games as he played a role in their successful title defence, but he returned to parent club Celtic for assessment at the end of the 2023 League of Ireland season.

A number of clubs across the UK had expressed an interest in a loan deal for Kenny but the Bhoys are happy to agree to a second loan spell with Rovers, at least until the summer but possibly for the entire 2024 season.

Kenny joined Scottish champions Celtic in 2022 on a five-year deal but has yet to make the first team squad.

Speaking last year, Kenny (22) said his aim was to make an impression at Celtic off the back of his form at Rovers and work his way into the first team squad.

“When I was first there it was Ange Postecoglou, and Brendan Rodgers is there now so I just want to get in and try to impress him,” said the U21 cap.

If we're loaning him again get him somewhere that's not the LOI, get him tested elsewhere.

If it's just a loan for the sale for saving wages before he leaves on a free just get rid properly

5 goals in 30 games in LOI suggests he was being tested enough and doubt many clubs at any kind of decent level will be queueing up for him with that kind of return.

Aye we should be loaning him within Scotland. Chances are he’s not making it but gives a better chance to develop

You just have to think who’d want him, he was rovers 3rd choice striker basically :39: Ross county maybe? The likes of even st Johnstone n Motherwell probably even have better striker options already at their clubs

5 goals and 4 assists, it's still not amazing numbers but send him to the Scottish championship or to Admira Wacker ups the profile and lets us see him in a different light
