Can’t wait man. Always has been my favourite sporting event of the year. Better than world cups, Augusta, the lot. Bring it the * on


Fancy Humphries to win it. MVG and Price are the other front runners but MVG isn’t quite the force of old (yet obviously still good enough to win it) and Price I don’t believe has won anything in front of a crowd this year. Neither ever have the fans’ support at the worlds which is a massive hindrance. When Price won it, it was an empty arena.

I’ll be backing:

Humphries 3/1
- He’s been the outstanding player this season. Starting to add real steel to his game and has a fine Pally Pedigree. Don’t fancy MVG, Price or Smith. I see him as the clear favourite.

Anderson 14/1
- Will probably run out of steam but his season average sits top of the pile at 98+. Knows how to win the worlds and always targets it. It’s the only one he really cares about.

Chizzy 50/1
- Showed he has the ability to challenge for the crown when he blitzed MVG 7-0 in one of the all time Ally Pally performances 3 years ago. Won 5 titles this year so maybe not quite the bottler he was before. He’ll always be Chizzy.. visibly * himself when the pressure is on but what a player. One of my favourites and I always have a cheeky nibble at long odds. Can’t help it


Caveat: I don’t even watch darts outside of the worlds really. But love reading up on how the season went before the worlds start.

 

Think Smith will go Far if not Win , Hopefully Anderson on form puts a stop to that.

 

Cool Hand Luke is obviously one of the main contenders.
I´ve got a feeling either Joe Cullen or Nathan Aspinall will * it though.

Either way, I can´t wait. Bring it on!

 

Michael Smith to defend his title, the dark horse being Peter Wright

 

Wright about to go out here....What a * for saying that about this is a warm up match for playing bigger fish in further rounds.

 

Absolute mauling here.....Wright has been a disgrace

 

2 main seeds out on this side as well...opens it up now...Littler looked great earlier as well

 

Playing since he was 18 months old he said

He’s gone right into 10/1. Same price as Bully boy and shorter than Anderson and Cross. It’s hard to see a 16 year old holding it together the whole way through to win the thing but he’s a certainly good enough ability wise. Gilding will be a test tomorrow, he throws much slower than Kist and could upset his rhythm.

I now really think Michael Smith will defend his title, think we will see him do a 110 average match during his defence.

 

Ye i was really really surprised at how good he was.....Deffo worth looking out for here in this tournament.

 

Agreed....Never seen him like that before.....He just look deflated after the 1st set.

 

van Peer should be thrown out for that entrance music alone. What the * was that.
