Obviously no saying he'll get that kind of money anywhere else, just there will be plenty who can offer much more than we can. We'd be offering 25k a week max probably, he'll get double that down the road easily.

Why though? Because he played well in Scotland for a bit then sat out 6 months in a league they thinks more of a joke than Scotland? Tbh I think they'll struggle.

We could probably get up to 35k or thereabouts a week but no doubt your right any club in the bottom half of the epl could easily beat that and probably some in the second tier as well.

I doubt very much he'll want to jump back down to relative 'pennies' considering he's on 200k a week. Surely that will have some sort of impact on any move? I always thought he was a bright lad who was motivated by playing football rather than money, but him moving there in the first place kinda contradicts that.

He's shown more than enough to have plenty clubs down south interested imo.

I doubt we'd even go to 35k but aye as you say, even if we did we could get easily blown out the water.

I could be totally wrong and the boy might actively want to come back here regardless of the wage, but just feel there will be too many better offers on the table.

Would be amazing to see Jota back in the hoops in January but I would say I will likely win the lottery before that happens.

He is a bright lad. That’s why he left to earn 200k per week. He’d have been daft to stay.

Aye I think there's no chance unfortunately.

I could have worded that better, I was and still am of the opinion that no * is knocking that kind of money back.

He could go to a side the championship and probably earn double what we would offer.

However, personally speaking I'd absolutely try and see if bringing him back is possible.

Takes some amount of pressure off Palma if Jota were to come back. While it isn't his natural side either but having Palma down the left and Jota down the right would offer fantastic balance to our attack

The only way this happens if its a loan and we pay a small percentage of his wage. Cant see it happening at all. Would require Jota and/or his club giving up on too much money.

Probably being optimistic here but I really wouldn't rule this out. It is after a truly unique situation. Jota is a supremely talented player but not in anyone's wildest dreams did we think he would go some where to earn near on 1M per month. By the end of January he will have been paid around £6M. The £6M has come at a price though, I'd imagine he is extremely unhappy. This Saudi club can't be happy paying so much for a player that isn't playingz they will want to get shot and they know they are not going to recoup anywhere near the £25M paid to us. So, the Saudi club will have to sell cheap or reach some kind of mutual agreement. From there, Jota has more money than he ever envisioned, he has the opportunity to pick a club that keeps him well paid and smiling - we will certainly be within that bracket surely?

Celtic hero Jota could be poised to leave Al-Ittihad on a "free" after struggling to make an impact in Saudi Arabia.

This is according to outlet Hi Koura which claims that the Saudi Pro League champions will attempt to "rip up the winger's contract".

Jota joined the Middle Eastern club for £25million during the summer transfer window but has found his game time limited due to being left out of Ittihad's league squad.

And now it appears like the winger could be set to depart the Saudi Arabian side.

If he's available on a free, he won't be coming here.

If there's any chance of bringing him back here, we should pull out all the stops.

One of my favourite players ever. There, I've said it.

The calendar sales from him, Oreilly and big Bernardo pays the transfer fee alone surely? Get it done
