It won't. It never is. No window has ever been massive for us under the current board. And even though I'd be happy to see the manager backed if it somehow happened, the signings are going to be picked by incompetent people.

 

Either that they will sell someone to cover the business. No faith in anyone at club

Board - incompetent tory *
Recruitment/scouting - beyond incompetence
Manager - clearly chucked it
Players - substandard and some have chucked it
Fans - isolated by board

Financially the most important window in a generation...

 

They can't be trusted mate none of them, I wouldn't spend a copper coin.

 

They must realise the significance too tho, I don't believe they want us to fail..

Ange's first 3 windows were all massive for us and greatly contributed to 5 out of 6 trophies.

 

I totally agree with you that, generally speaking, our transfer windows have been appalling for as long as I can remember. And I am hoping, rather than expecting, that the next one is different.

The exception to that, however, was Postecoglu’s first and second windows. On the back of the Covid season, and given the terrible start to his tenure, we needed Postecoglu’s signings to hit the ground running and they did.

We need a similar impact this coming January as well.

 

If they didn't want us to fail mate they wouldn't have bought 8 punts in the summer and Rodgers wouldn't still be here on Monday morning!

 

Difference is lawwell wasn't around in his token position.

It isn't just lawwell though it's all of them!

 

If you take our current squad, almost everybody who you'd say is up to the standard of being a Celtic first team regular was signed by Postecoglou. The exceptions are Cal and also probably Palma.

So, recruitment is massive. Somebody at the club needs to show that they know what they're doing.

Cannot defend set pieces and cannot score from them torture to watch

 

We were in a far stronger position to get that level of player in the summer though. CL football, pre-season under a new manager, favourites for the title (and therefore CL football again), an atmosphere that wasn't divided and toxic.

The usual excuses the board trot out about hard to get players in January, no gurantee of CL football etc etc will likely be rolled out again and we'll all be scunnered again come Jan 31st. PROVE ME WRONG CELTIC, DARE YE!

I completely agree with you.

The fact that the squad is in desperate need of major surgery half way through the season is a disgrace.

But I am hoping (maybe naively) that Rodgers will start using some of his clout. He surely didn’t come back here to have a team of * projects foisted on him by Lawwell and Lawwell Junior. He needs to put his foot down and demand quality signings in January and, if not, it’s disaster.

 

Just 2 quality signings please.
