I'd debate he's not in the same class as Conte and Emery for sure. I'm not saying he's an elite manager by the way but would not say he's much worse than they 2. The things Emery is doing at the minute with Aston Villa, Rodgers was doing similar with Leicester in his first couple of years.

Rodgers wasn't spending the money Aston Villa have either. That front 3 of Diaby, Watkins and Bailey alone cost them £120m. I don't think Rodgers had that sort of cash at his disposal.

Obviously, Emery has had unreal success in Europe with Sevilla and he was doing very well with Villareal before he went to Aston Villa but he's had his unsuccessful periods as well. Surprised you've even included Conte to be honest. Guy leaves an absolute mess wherever he goes after some initial successes.

I don't know, mate. I think Emery is amazing and has Villa as genuine title contenders (albeit not favourites); I never felt like Rodgers' Leicester were in with a chance of a title. I'm with you on Conte, though. I also agree with you that people underestimate just how well Rodgers did at Leicester.

I think Emery is quality. I also think Rodgers is quality, though. People just seem to be overly * off with how things have went here during his first few months in charge.

Context needs to be taken into question a lot at the minute and I think, with the history of what happened previously, they’re going in all guns blazing without looking at other factors. It also doesn’t help that the orcs have just picked up their first bit of silverware and have the bit between their teeth. It’s up to our recruitment team and players coming back from injury to alleviate the fans fears, though.

Rodgers himself has to earn his salary too. He’s not blameless whatsoever. He’s just not the main culprit right now, in my opinion.

most recently this in response to Doogs:
and these at various points this season:

not digging anyone out here btw, just don't agree he's elite in any way, shape or form. never won a top european league, european cup comp or consistently worked to an elite level in his career. he's a good coach who's had notable achievements, but elite? that's reserved for serial winners such as Pep, Klopp, Emery, Ancelotti for me.

The more I think about it, I think some people on here may be right about Rodgers, in him sending a message to the board with his team selections.

As if to say, "This is what you left me with, I need better!"

Any other manager would be showing more passion, he just looks resigned to it all.

If it's true, then he's as much to blame.

If Maresca joined instead of Rodgers and served up the same * we've seen I think more people would be * off. He'd definitely be on thinner ice anyway.

Squad problems or not, there's literally no evidence in our performances that we're going anywhere. Everyone's regressed, we're worse defensively, worse offensively, our wining mentality has disappeared, there's no excitement, no patterns of play, no courage, no determination, no flair, nothing. We've lost a massive points lead, given up one trophy and out of Europe again. We're consistently putting in some of our worst performances for years.

We actually have less points this season than we did after the same amount of games in 20/21. That is completely unacceptable considering where we were a few months ago.

People are clinging onto our domestic success under Rodgers 7 years ago while ignoring all of the CURRENT red flags. They're also ignoring the last 12 months of his spell at Leicester while clinging onto 1 FA Cup win and a few 5th place finishes (all of which occurred 4+ years ago). It's pure copium. He's a manager on a steep decline. Everything bad I read from Leicester fans before he came back exemplifies what we've seen so far this season.

Aside from 16/17, our football was incredibly tedious at times when he had Dembele, Edouard, Tierney, Roberts, Rogic, Forest, Sinclair, Armstrong, McGregor, Ntcham et al. to choose from.

He won't change and new signings will not see us playing electric football all of a sudden. We probably will improve (it would be hard not to), but this * we're seeing now is his "style". Safe, possession based crap, a horse shoe/crab hybrid. Outdated pish. Slow, no intensity, no penetration. No good for domestic football.

I have no interest in watching Celtic with him at the helm, that's the biggest issue for me. That's the case even when we're winning, I see no reason for him to be here if he isn't even doing that. If he drops anymore points before the break he NEEDS to go.

That's exactly what he did at Leicester !! He made terrible substitutions in his last season trying to send a message that he needed more players even though the club was up against FFP. He is a nasty piece of work who puts himself before the club.

Done it here as well. Was it not him that played McGregor at lb ?

Honestly looks like he's doing that just now.

He's too arrogant to take the positive aspects of his predecessor's approach and implement them. Football has been turgid, which you can get away with when you're winning, but as soon as we started dropping points it was never going to be tolerated for very long. He also seems completely downcast and has been routinely throwing players under the bus. Season is turning into a car crash in slow motion - I'd give him the bullet tomorrow and give a modern coach with a track record of playing exciting football the funds to get things back on track in January.

See a guy who has been critical of the GB's antics and how they've gone about thing, I think their absence has had a big impact on recent performances. It's vital to try and get a bit of noise going at Celtic Park immediately, think Rodgers' job would be made a lot easier if we can get a positive atmosphere going again.

Please, both sides, sort it to fucknout NOW.
