Wonder why he put Nawrocki on the bench at the weekend when only Lagerbielke can play in Europe. Pretty much a snub to Lagerbielke like you'll be on the bench on Wednesday but I prefer Nawrocki to you still.

Wonder if Lagerbielke is that bad or if Rodgers hold some kind of grudge for getting sent off against Feyenoord as he's never really looked that bad. Probably played as much as Phillips and everyone and their dug is * themselves watching Phillips as he's slow as * yet he gets played.

You can never trust Rodgers judgement of players either, his first spell he never really used Edouard until the 2nd half of the season, Christie as well he never played until half the squad were wiped out and he had to play. He never used Ajer for half a season then loaned him out when he probably could have played and been fine.

He initially preferred De Vries over Gordon, Gamboa over Lustig, I think even Sviatchenko and Simunovic over Boyata. Signed Oli Burke and Jack Hendry and brought them straight into the team before binning them.

 

Well CCV not playing has pretty much taken any interest I had in watching the game away. Can't stomach another European horror show and certain not one with Phillips playing in

 

True, Feyenoord will make up the numbers..

 

Aye probably right not to risk him, I guess..

But like you say it's going to be painful I think.

 

CCV is always injured ffs.

Anyway this game is a good opportunity for squad rotation (see Ange's win over Betis).

Makes sense to be fair given we are already out and the number of games we have still to play between now and January 2.

 

Welsh or Lagerbielke then.

 

No he is not and would much rather our own player be it Lagerbielke or Welsh get the experience and game time alongside Scales tomorrow anyway.

 

No sure about that to be honest. I think he looked like an accident waiting to happen. He was completely thrown in at the start grantee, but his performance at Ibrox was overlooked due to the result. He was a woeful on the ball that day. It wasn’t the only game where he looked slow on the ball either. Pretty sure he got caught away at Feyenoord first half and then got booked after a rash tackle also. I don’t think he looked good at all. Nawrocki on the other hand looked decent I thought.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence either that with Starfelt away, we simply cannot defend balls into our box. That’s where he was at his best.

 

I feel he looked soft and did ok on the ball, he tried riskier passes than Phillips, Scales or CCV so did Nawrocki but it wasn't too bad.

I don't like how we replaced Starfelt with nobody of the same pace though. Rodgers before had Boyata and Ajer at the back who both were quick probably the 2nd fastest we've ever had at the back after Van Dijk and Denayer. I feel we need faster centre-backs because if it's not a set piece we need to defend then it's a counter attack.

Was suicidal for me against Kilmarnock that he went 4-4-2 as everytime we lost the ball they were running at Scales and Phillips who were probably * themselves where as CCV and Starfelt it's nothing to them.

 

May as well see if Lagerbielke can do anything, probably unfair on the lad tho as he hasn't played, a big ask to step into a CL night..

It's going to be Phillips isn't it.

 

We lazily recruited Lagerbielke through an agent or something I'm sure. I agree it's ridiculous that we haven't replaced Starfelt's pace or aerial ability properly.

Starfelt was clearly an Ange buy imo because he signed VDV for Spurs who is like a carbon copy of Starfelt albeit a better version.

Seems like we're back to the old throw a pile of * and see if it sticks approach. There's no vision or plan to our signings. Kwon, Yang (despite his potential), Bernardo, Tilio and Lagerbielke are all bizarre punts for where this Celtic team is at. It's genuinely disgraceful how bad that window was.

We need to see more of Nawrocki but Lagerbielke seems dodgy to me and Phillips is straight up trash.
