It HAS to be that, there's no other logical explanation. The fact is, if it is that, the person who negotiated that needs chased. If it's not, then Brendan has a lot of answer for.

But he did bring him here. He was an emergency loan that we never even used for Europe, which was presumably why he was brought in, because he's worse than all of our current options.

A ridiculous signing that is stifling the development of our new signings and costing us every time he plays.

Should never have taken Iwata off for Kyogo. We were losing the midfield battle as it was, taking Iwata off and leaving us with 2 in the middle of the park made it worse. Palma should have been off before Johnston as well.

We don't know if he did though. I don't trust a single thing when it comes to our recruitment. Goes beyond Rodgers.

The point I'm making is I wouldn't really crucify him off of that signing as it was clearly horrendously last minute and we probably had very few options for someone who was effectively coming in to cover for 3 injured CBs.

As I say, don't know why he's playing ahead of the other two.

I just don't see any redeemable qualities. Early days under Ange was poor but you could see a clear style of play we just didn't have the players for it a bit similar to Spurs just now but watching us so far this season we look good for spells of games but on the whole we just seem void of everything

It's scary just now because if our creative players aren't on it then we have no clear direction on how to play. At least with anges system it was one dimensional but the players knew what to do whereas now we're relying on individual quality to create chances and win games.

Same thing happened at Leicester as soon as maddison and barnes were out the team they looked so toothless. If Matt O'Riley or Palma aren't at it here we're done.

I'm more concerned about the performances on the park than anything else at the minute. Just merely pointing out though how bad Rodgers is at signing defenders, evidenced by Phillips who might actually be worse than Duffy.

The fact Nawrocki and Lagerbielke have vanished is a major cause for concern though. They're either not good enough (which again coincides with Rodgers' involvement in poor defensive recruitment), Rodgers genuinely believes Phillips is a better option, or they are good enough but Rodgers thinks they aren't.

I don't buy the Phillips has x amount of minutes in his contract thing. But either way it's * baffling.

He kept harping on in the build-up to this game about the progression of the team since our 1-0 defeat there in August.

I didn't see any sort of progression whatsoever. In fact, if anything, the performance was even worse.

Rodgers is currently failing. Out of the League Cup, out of Europe, could only be 2 points ahead of them if they win their game in hand. Simply NOT good enough. Kilmarnock are on a similar budget to my old club Derry City. Given the resources we have over the rest of Scotland - Brendan this is failure. You have to take the blame for the results on the park. How much longer does he have before more of the fans turn against him???

Doesn’t matter if you buy it or not, it’s how Liverpool structure loan deals.

If he didn't have a clue who they were then he should have never sanctioned the signings of them. Should never have added a glut of players he knew nothing about to a squad he knew nothing about.

It was frankly lazy and bordering on neglect. He is as complicit as anyone else in the disastrous window.

I don’t really blame him for performances. The squad isn’t good enough and there’s no real excuse for it. Thats coming from someone that was very critical of him from his second season onwards.

What I would say is he is 100% not forceful enough with the board. There’s no way Ange would’ve accepted a bunch of 21 and 22 year olds this summer without some serious attempt at improving the squad in the summer.

Agreed. We're on a downward trajectory and Brendan Rodgers isn't capable of turning that around.

We waited too long to act on Mowbray and too long to act on Lennon and paid the price. Let's no repeat those mistakes.

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
20 million spent in summer and only 5 starting today, iwata only half part of that having been here prior anyway.

    so palma only,

the rest not good enough seemingly. Nat * Phillips on vs 9m of CBs who are our actual players.

terrible * window, January needs to be a hit or this league campaign will not be a successful one. That’s an absolute reality.

Lacking quality is one thing, but our players looking clueless and not being able to even get out their half against Kilmarnock is absolutely on Rodgers.

Regardless of how * our squad is it is infinitely better than Killie's and McInness just out-coached Rodgers twice this season.

Easy to jump on the bandwagon after that performance. We massively need January. We will recover.
