I think if you look at the start he had, when he had the squad available, it is effective. Defensively it’s so * reliant on Van de Ven’s pace and offensively on Maddison without them it’s been a real struggle.

It kinda reminds me of Pep’s start at City, won the first 10 games, then it was actually us that showed they were fallible in the 3-3 draw and Pep was getting the accusations of that football doesn’t cut it in the Premiership.

He’ll bring in more quality, improve the squad, have more options to just slightly tweak the style depending on who’s playing and he’ll be successful.

He was getting the exact same questioning up here when the squad issues stymied a good start. But he’ll be limping towards January just now, and they need to get the win to stop the freefall.

Horrendous luck with Maddison and Van de Ven being the ones to get bad injuries, they two and Son are the crucial ones. Much like we had CCV, Hatate and Kyogo last year. Difference was last year our squad could cope with it, maybe with the exception of CCV.

Yeah if he’s backed a lot more it will work better, depth is *. If he could get 4th would be some achievement but he’ll not win things or go far in Europe with these tactics. Far to open and concede to many goals against these team. Fun to watch and will get Spurs are hella points but will still be well off City, Arsenal, Liverpool come May I think.

The openness is far overstated for me, but it needs the right personnel to work properly. CCV and Starfelt was that for us, unfortunately we never got to test that at a higher level (after it had clicked on the style of defending) but it was very stingy at conceding chances. With Romero and VdV at Spurs at the start of this season, that was what they were doing, it’s a style that rushes other teams to no end and sweeps up, hassles and stops chances. He also has the Pep style thing of bringing players down high up the pitch cynically with a niggly foul to stop a chance of a counter.

Judging the way Ange operated here, he’ll have his guys he needs lined up already to come in and bolster the team and what he needs. Obviously it’s going to be more difficult down there but it doesn’t go from taking the league by storm when he has the full first team quality, 3 MotM’s in a row, to naive and doesn’t work when he loses they players that are the most crucial towards making it work.

When you look at their possession and shots it is an Ange trademark. He needs to work on being more clinical if it means having less shots, so be it. We were the same in Europe many times.

Judging by us in Europe under him anyway, the shots and chances weren’t desperate hopeful ones. We made a lot of good chances, ones that should have been buried in the net, we weren’t taking advantage of they very good chances giving us less of they chances wasn’t the answer for me anyway.

Being mentally stronger when we get a goal or two ahead and being pegged back a goal was the major thing for me. Infact, not even that, if we conceded one we’d follow that up quickly with conceding another.

    Big man needs January desperately.

They’re desperate for some squad depth. Defensively, I think they’ve got a really strong back 4 when all fit.. Udogie looks a real find, Van den Ven was arguably the best defender in the league before his injury, Romero is quality and Porro has showed glimpses of why they paid big money for him.

They need another winger and a striker for me though. Richarlison is bogging. Wouldn’t surprise me to see them go for Jota and someone like Toney, if they could afford him. Never been a massive fan of that Kulusevski. I still think they need to target better than Jota though, if they want to go to the next level.

He will find someone though. He always does. They were strongly linked with that Obertan or whatever his name is from Belgium. He’s got quality stats.

The money being touted for Toney I can’t see them wanting to go anywhere near that, £100m or thereabouts is what they want. That fee isn’t worth it for Spurs just now, he’ll spread about money in surprising ways, that’ll be surprising in how to utilise them. It was the way he operated here and in Japan by all accounts

I'm pretty sure Ange knew the score when he took the gig, it's all down to Levy, you would think he would recognize that Ange is a quality manager and he will afford him the time to get things right.

But this is a chairman notorious for pulling the trigger on managers if it isn't working, Ange defo needs a few in the door in January.

Yeah, unless he changes how he operates at a basic level, it's probably not going to be about individual big money superstars (though you could argue the likes of CCV and Jota are at our level) it's players who have the attributes that tick the boxes and fit the system, the team as a unit playing the way he wants.

Like some on here have been spitting feather's about Maeda not being great technically since the day he arrived, but he's an absolutely vital cog in the machine. Taylor probably a better example, a pretty limited player and wasn't really rated good enough before or after Ange, but he just worked in that system.

I can’t see them signing Toney either, to be honest. I don’t think Brentford will get £100m for him either but I still think they’ll be looking for £70m.

I thought Brennan Johnson would have been a quality signing but he’s not really set the heather alight for them. I can see him going back to the Bundesliga. Still a cheap place to buy for outside of Dortmund and Bayern and the quality is clearly there.

I absolutely 100% think Maeda would be better in the Premiership than he is up here with us facing a wall of 11 men in the box with zero space to burst into.

Think he’s looked technically better and better in the Europe for us than in general domestic league games. But they domestic games, since he’s been out I think it’s been noticeable how different the intensity and movement in the team is with him there or not there. It’s a stark difference.

The football when it's in full flow is frightening still. You really don't know what you have until it's gone..

It was mental some people thought Rodgers was as good or better than him, we'll no see a manager near him again the rest of our days I don't think.

I genuinely don't think there is a manager in world football whose football is more impressive going forward. An utter joy to watch.

We really should have ignored the fact his old assistant was a hun and just hired him. Kept marinos playing * epic football.
