Provide for each other? What are you * yittering on about? They're scoring far more under Rodgers than they did Ange because Kyogo dropping deep creates space for them to run into from deep. It's literally the reason why we do that.

Yes, Kyogo probably suffers from a personal goalscoring level but so *? We are creating chances, we are scoring and the midfielders are contributing far more. This isn't about Kyogo.. it's about Celtic playing the way a manager wants to. Some will like it, some won't. That's fine. At least let the guy get the players in he needs to play his NATURAL game, before slating him and his tactics.

Furious Brendan Rodgers admits trailing St Johnstone 1-0 at the break today is the "angriest" he's ever been at half-time in his career.

The champions came from behind to win 3-1 in Perth as they got back to winning ways domestically after last week's stalemate against Motherwell.

Callum McGregor, Matt O'Riley and James Forrest stepped up to the mark in the second half, as their strikes canceled out Diallang Jaiyesimi's opener.

Rodgers gave his players a stern talking-to in the dressing room at the interval, and it seemed to work the trick as they stormed back to claim all three points.

"It was a really good reaction in the second half," the 50-year-old said. "It's probably the angriest I've ever been at half time in my career as a manager.

"The first half, the intent, we were too comfortable and nowhere near it. The second half was what I would expect. There was a much better energy and tempo to the game.

Callum McGregor was absolutely brilliant in the second half and his goal, which looked like it was coming, sparked the reaction.

"It's ambition. Some players just want to be too comfortable and just do enough, it's not enough at this club. You have to have that mentality and intensity from that first whistle. But the reaction was really good.

We just can't drop at this club. The standards are very high and have been set over many years.

I said to the players at half time that we'd gone a game and a half without scoring, with the greatest respect, against St Johnstone. Our levels need to be much better, and they were in the second half but that's a little reminder for the players that the second you drop off there are good teams and managers who can hurt you.

Thankfully our intensity was better in the second half. We deserved to score three and maybe more."

Speaking to Sky Sports post-match, Rodgers was asked if he felt there was any suggestions of a foul in the build-up to St Johnstone's goal.

Rodgers said: "There was no foul. Have to have been stronger in that moment, we were soft. It's a great ball in by Carey, it's a corner we'd looked at working, but we got nowhere near that aggression.

"It was a great ball in, they surround the keeper and then we don't defend it."

Mikey Johnston earned the man of the match award for the Hoops. The Republic of Ireland international made the desired impact, as along with the goalscorers, he took control of the game.

Rodgers was full of praise. He commented: "He was outstanding. He's one that if he can improve his tactical idea in the game in terms of his pressing and understanding where to be then you can see the talent he has when he's on the ball.

"In duels, he's very good. I thought he was bright and positive. He made a good contribution for us."

Tbf, Hatate, Maeda and Abada all make a difference..

Kyogo's goal return is roughly the same as last year and he still got 34..

But aye I do agree the squad depth has shown to be substandard and not just in Europe..

Well, what you're calling his natural game has been much slower and ponderous than we'd like. Going gung-ho, and having midfielders burst forward- finally including our captain- saved us today. I think today calls for plan B to become plan A.

I like Iwata but asking him to replace 3 players himself is a bit much.

Kyogos a shadow of the player he was last season. Can’t think how his stats would be the same.

Aye Hatate would make a huge difference but we are never gonna have everyone fit at the same time. Once Hatates back Palma or O’Riley or someone will break down.

Aye, I'm not arguing we are getting the best out of him, we definitely aren't but his stats are similar for this time last year..though he was injured at the start of last season .

The first half was, the second definitely wasn’t. Three cracking goals and the play far more intense and at speed.

Rodgers did. I want him to permanently change our playing style to that 2. half set-up. No more patience, no more striving for possession.

    3 assumptions you're making there:

    1) The most important changes were tactical rather than attitude and personnel. Rodgers himself explicitly said otherwise.

    2) A way of playing that works in one half against a team set up to negate how we usually play will work well if we use it permanently against teams who domestically will respond by setting up to nullify it.

    3) Our manager, who has managed in the top half of the EPL, doesn't know what he's doing against a bog-standard SPL team.

    1. McGregor was no longer sitting like a traffic policeman, unlike what he usually does. That's a tactical change.

    2. Teams in Scotland sit in against us so much that playing with 3 midfielders is probably overkill. At the very least our captain should be unleashed, if playing with 3 midfielders is to stay. 3-5-2?

    3. At half time the more extreme on here thought the season was lost and that doesn't give off an impression the manager knew what he was doing. Our manager has had plenty of trouble against teams that sit in. Nobody should be above changing himself for the better.

In fairness, Ange didn't. We just played super fast football (like that O'Riley goal) and cut teams open thus negating the brick wall defence. Hopefully BR saw that today and believes his 'new' approach is a good way to go lol

Think he’s told a few players some home truths which I hope has sunk in.

We really need some quality in this window or it’s going to be a * slog fest run in.

It’s clear as * we need players who are willing to run at teams, move the ball quickly and play through even though there is 10 behind the ball and * have a good instead of passing it about doing * all.
