Not the only defence at all. Please see my other post above as well for other examples of how I think he's doing.

My point is you said watching his teams makes you fall out of love with football.

I think that's insanely over the top.

I still have concerns over him domestically, particularly his ability to break teams down and play attractive football on a regular basis.

Glad to see him a bit more energised after FT though.

I'd like to see him act like that more often.

I can't help but feel he is still easing his way back in as he doesn't 100% feel comfortable still.

There's definitely a change in his demeanour.

The onus is on him to change the mentality of this team and to prevent further malaise, and i wonder if Rodgers has it about him to kick a few arses.

I feel like its crucial he brings in a few big characters in January. Had it not been for two moments of real individual quality today things would have been very different. We are not going to be able to rely on wonder strikes.

He needs to fire this team up, the warning signs have been there.

I think he also needs to be mindful of Kyogo as he really isnt getting the best out of him in the way we have been playing and it isnt outwith the realm of possibility that he could end up wanting away.

It's a personal opinion. And honestly, watching us pass about our defense is not making football fun. Okay, we were guiltier of that against Motherwell IMO, but still. Urgency of play is always more important than passing accuracy, for me.

I've already said above the football hasn't been consistent enough.

But I disagree with the notion that his teams can't play good football. We know they can if it clicks and if we have the right players.

At the moment I don't think we have the latter. And as I said above he is only 6 months or so into his second tenure so I do believe it will take a bit more time than that. But due to it being him and his history people are jumping on his back a lot quicker.

    TBH as expected. Sadly.

I want him to not insist on his own ideas if he hasn't got the players for it.

That's the thing, he isn't. He's essentially told Taylor to play his usual Inverted role because he can't overlap, same with Johnston really.

He isn't insisting on his own ideas. Greg Taylor is still playing as an inverted LB because we don't have a left back to do what he wants them to do.

Ange didn't have the players for it for his first 6 months but insisted with his own ideas till the day he walked out the club.

    Most managers will.

I also think he's been reasonably flexible in all honesty. As above, Taylor still being utilised in a role he was put into under Ange because he can't go forward down the wing as he's gash in a natural wing back role.

I didn't see Greg inverting as strictly today, as he had done against...Livingston. And Kyogo playing deep certainly is Rodgers' idea. A horrible idea that needs binned faster than a Rangers shirt that falls into your hands.

Ange is still doing it now with half a team out and the slowest CB pairing of all time in Dier and Davies.

Pish. You're either playing inverted or you're not. He's playing inverted.

On Kyogo. Rodgers wants his striker to be more involved in the game. That's what Rodgers formation/tactics rely on. A striker being involved and bringing other players into attacking positions. It's why we had so many goalscorers from midfield under him previously with Armstrong and McGregor.

There's no coincidence as to why Turnbull and O'Riley have been scoring far more than normal this year.

Lost 3 in a row, though. This is why very specific ideas are risky to insist on. Ideally, a Celtic manager should be a tinkerer, able to plan for absences of players, different opposition etc. Blind dogmatism in football can only work if you're the manager of a sugar-daddy club.

It does though. His football became an utter chore towards the end of his first spell and it's an utter chore from the start of this spell. We've been bad, it's just that bad by our standards is enough to get by domestically (although Killie in the cup was pathetic). Last season people were raving about how that Celtic side was one of their favourite ever sides. This season it's simply uninspiring and it's a guarantee not a soul will utter anything close to last season's sentiments about this side.

Can't the midfield provide for each other, or have Taylor find their runs into space? Kyogo is not a deep lying forward. And Rodgers should have accepted his role as something to be kept, based on his last season's return.

Furthermore, Palma is not quick enough to be an inside forward that fills the space theoretically left by Kyogo.

We did and the majority of us compared to Brendan Rodgers side, who were outstanding in his first season.

We raved about Rodgers team too. It's not like we were battering teams in the final 6 months under Ange either, by the way.

Squad is a complete mess. Mikey Johnston who wasn’t good enough years ago is now coming on to save that day.

    Yang is rubbish.

Turnbull, Taylor, Scales all just extremely average.

McGregor and AJ just not got going at all this season. Kyogo struggling for goals now too.

O’Riley and Palma are the only ones worth getting excited about it.
