He’s not got the physicality to be starting regularly at this level, that being set he’s got every right to be fuming that Bernardo is in ahead of him.

I think it's certain that he will be leaving in the January window. It looks like Rodgers doesn't rate him and he will need to leave to get game time. Better to get something for him now or he leaves on a free in the Summer.

Mental if he doesnt rate him because he has always got decent numbers. Just inconsistent form.

It’s nothing to do with inconsistency.

He is what he is. A completely immobile and lethargic midfielder who bangs in some goals against Scottish fodder, but is a man down against any team with a bit of quality about them.

    It’s what he’ll always be.

He is nowhere near completely immobile. Not even close to lethargic either. Guy has bailed us out in recent weeks and this is the sort of pish thats libelled at him.

If someone is offering anything like that reported figure with 6 months on deal and he doesn't want to sign a new deal then it's a no brainer for me.

This player - who yesterday played part of the match in Lazio-Celtic in the Champions League - plays as a central midfielder and is reminiscent of former Inter player Ivan Perišić in his movements . Different role, but he moves like him. Raised in Motherwell , he is good in managing the ball, in running the ball. He is good at blocking and initiating action. He kicks from distance, with both feet, both with the right and with the left. Tense football, polite and clean foot. He has a lot strength when loading the shot from 20-30 meters.

He has broken verbally with Celtic and his contract expires on 31 May 2024 . Signing him in January would cost 8 million euros, maximum 10 . Otherwise Milan will have to hope to be chosen next summer from a very vast list of suitors. Scottish international, like Bologna 's Lewis Ferguson , with different characteristics. Modern, complete midfielder: he scored 7 goals in 11 league games for Celtic. Very interesting profile that many Italian clubs are looking at, including Milan."

Think his game suits Italian football, and he has decent technique, he came in when we were looking to speed up our play that's why he hasn't suited us.

Would like to see him in Italy but he’s not going to AC and not for those types of figures at this stage of his contract.

You do realise we're talking about David Turnbull? You really going to stick with your opinion that he's "not even close to lethargic"?

The guy is running through treacle. Why do you think he's never been a regular for us under Ange and now Rodgers? He's painfully slow and has next to no physicality about him whatsoever.

If he didn't have a cracking strike in his locker, he'd be nowhere near a Celtic squad. Because he offers pretty much nothing else.

Italy would probably suit him due to how slow he is and when you see other bang average midfielders like Lewis Ferguson thriving over there and being talked up for £20m moves to Juve it kinda makes sense all round.

If only the Italians had a thing for incredibly * left backs too

David is good, but the closest comparison I'd make isn't Perišić but rather Keisuke Honda. Perišić has bags of stamina. If David had that, O'Riley would be on the bench.

If only it was true, we need a big clear out of the current squad to get quality in.

You will be likely to get a £1m tops to take him in January maybe with some add ons. No danger they would pay that sort of fee for him.

It’s the managers job to find a solution to include a player like him in the team, especially one that produces end results with those numbers.

it’s also the manager job to develop him but what do we expect to see? When we’re up against it, throw on Bull to * a goal. What a * route to coach, give him the opportunities to grow when we’re dominant. Let’s not forget he was neglected by Ange.

I fear he’ll be a player that moves on and we’ll be looking over at how well he comes onto a game, all because we didn’t do enough to develop him over the years.

How many more chances or time to develop does he really need? Been here 4 years and made over 100 apperances, that's more than most get, we've had plenty of time to learn what his pros and cons are as a player, we all know he's got a great shot on him but his all round game is a drop off from the like of O'Riley and Hatate (and Mooy last season), not sure how that was Ange 'neglecting' him, better players are simply ahead of him.

I'd be more than happy for him to agree a new deal, he's a useful member of the squad, but everybody fit he still is a squad player not a starter.

Turnbull couldn't lace O'Riley's boots. One will end up going to a top six SPFL team or a lower/mid table Championship club. The other will move to a top European league for close to a record fee for us.
