Wasted his time coming back here, wonder if he has a get out clause in his contract if he feels the boards * him over again, I certainly wouldn't have come back without one

Yep. He's the managerial equivalent of a player that "will get the job done", but is presented and paid like a star.

3rd option. When you try sign the calibre of player he demanded they said no to scotland and went elsewhere.

This is very likely what happened at the summer. I think he, and possibly the club assumed too much in terms of his and the CLs pull.

It will be telling whether he can break that cycle or adapt to signing targets that we can get.

I’m happy to be challenged on this, but I honestly don’t get the criticism of him.

He’s shown in the Champions League barring the Atletico fiasco that he belongs at this level as a manager.

We got in to great positions in the first half by playing through the lines. We’ve more than competed in every other game.

Unfortunately, you’ve got Aul’ Jamesy, and the wee Korean fella creating absolutely nada from each side, and a distinct lack of an out ball for the entire game.

We struggle to score against SPL jobbers with our personnel. Not a shock that we can’t create anything against experienced players.

Having said that, I genuinely don’t know why he’s here. Seems like he’s experiencing the same situation that resulted in him patching us at 2 in the morning.

His tactics ruined what was good from last season and did not fix what was bad. There's a comparison thread a bit further down.

The theoretical advantage of having lots of possession is supposedly taking away the chances from the opposition by denying them the ball. We have conceded 22 shots last night, so I'd say the tactical approach was wrong. Even more so taking into account we had 54% of the ball and only 7 shots.

22 shots, but how many of them were threatening?

We worked it up the park many times in the first half. The players took up brilliant positions in the build up, and we had openings in the final third several times.

We resembled a well coached team.

It broke down constantly. No harm to the lads on either wing, but they’re just not good enough for that level. The Lazio players are used to playing against quality forward players every week.

Salernitana are 20th in the Serie A.

Would Yang and Forrest get a game for them?

Admittedly, I couldn't watch the game. But in football, there's no prize for "almost got a result". Fact of the matter is, they opted to prioritize shots over possession. And shots can become goals.

Your question on Salernitana is valid, but I don't know their tactics. Yang would be useful to a counterattacking team. We sadly, do not play like one in Europe.

I’d argue there hasn’t been a weaker starting 11 in the Champions League this season than ours last night.

The manager set us up well. We got in to good areas. Better players take advantage.

I’m sick talking about it, but we’ve got the capacity to compete at this level. For whatever reason, we choose to handicap ourselves, which results in games playing out like last night.

Lazio are a good team, but that game was very winnable. As was the game at home to them. As was the game away to Feyenoord.

Last night is a very winnable game with 2 or 3 players that would improve our starting 11. Players that our recruitment team should be identifying. Players that would jump at the chance to play for us in the Champions League, contrary to the opinion of a few.

Instead we’ve got a fella that Rodgers said would be phased out after his testimonial, and a young Korean lad who has ability but is so raw that it’s difficult to put in to words.

You just contradicted the Salernitana point you made earlier. If they, the bottom Serie A side, beat Lazio and we couldn't beat them at home or away, then we have no capacity to compete at this level because our squad is so poor in quality and in such an easy league that we are unaware of our place. Which has been the case for years.

Haksabanovic wasn't, and never will be, good enough.

Winger is where we are unlucky imo, we had Palma, Abada and Maeda out tonight's game, the biggest issues are LB, GK and CM.

Every right? He's 3rd choice. He couldn't deal with it. Fact is palma is better. Before that jota was better. Meada offers more than him. Then when gave a chance he was utter pish. He's *.

    I don’t see the contradiction.

I agree that our squad is jobby.

Our starting line up last night had about 6 players that are good enough to play for us.

Like I say, how can you possibly criticise the manager, not you personally, when about half our starting line up wouldn’t get a game for the worst team in their league.

The manager can set us up and get the team in to areas in the final third, after that you need players of a reasonable standard that can take advantage.
