Did more in literally 10 seconds than Forrest did the entire time he was on the park.

He's always been a good player; it's just that he's 10 minutes away from his next injury.

He had a decent shot that their keeper pushed away, then we picked up the ball and put the cross in that resulted in the pen that got cancelled. That was probably more impact than Yang or Forest had the whole game.

Does that not highlight my point he has no end product ? Not scoring and crossing a ball to the keeper. He was better Forrest and Yang but that is setting the bar incredibly low. Johnston and Forrest should no longer be at Celtic both should have long been shown the door

Making a chance for yourself to get a shot off and forcing the keeper to make a save, one where he can't hold the ball and has to push it away. That isn't nothing, especially in a CL away game. Would I love to have a 3rd choice left winger better than MJ? Of course.

Both literally resulted in nothing. His career points to him having no end product even accounting for the year abroad. He's absolutely pish and I don't want to see him get a run in the team I would genuinely release him tomorrow he's had far too many chances at this point

This game probably suits him better than teams that sit in. In hindsight, should have started.

He should play with a broken leg if it means he keeps Forrest out of the starting XI.. the difference he made when he came on was impressive, direct taking on players, everything you’d expect from a winger. Include Yang in this equation too, not once did he even try and beat his full back and cause a threat..

Earned a start at the weekend albeit he didn’t need to do much for that. Still quite clearly has no long term future here and shouldn’t be relied upon to try and make an impact in the champions league, even accounting for injuries and suspensions.

Yeah, I would start him ahead of Forrest . Won us a penalty at the weekend and should have had an assist if Yang buried that free header.

The whole end product thing is a load of *. In the last 2 games he's had a better end product than any other player in the team and that's coming off the bench in the second half.
He created our only clear cut chance against Motherwell - more than anybody else did - not his fault that Yang missed it. He also got us a penalty.
Against Lazio he brought out the only save of note the keeper had to make in the whole match - more than any other player did. He was also the only player who could beat a man and cause a bit of panic in their defence.
He clearly has bags of ability and can do things nobody else in our team can do - beat a man (sometimes 2 or 3) and run at a defence with pace.
The only thing that's stopped him becoming an important player for us is injuries. I don't remember him playing 5 games in a row.
The problem is even if he does play a few games and looks good you're just waiting for him to go off injured or hear that's he's done something at training.

End product is a goals and assists, his end product is evidently *.

Didn't even cross my mind he's went that long without scoring. He's made 40 appearances since then - pathetic return. He is a waste of a substitution.

fair play to him last night. Should start at the weekend for me. Not the answer moving forward but I'd much prefer to see MJ loose the ball 3 or 4 times trying something than watching forrest for another minute

Certainly for me if the choice is between him and Forrest at the weekend then Johntson should start. He was decent again last night after he came on and had a positive impact just as he did at the weekend.

Very basic way of judging it. You're saying if a winger creates 4 good chances in a game for the striker and he misses them all then the winger has no end product.
Most of his games for the past 4 years at least have been as a sub when returning from injuries.
Seems strange to write off a clearly talented player before he's had a chance to prove himself due to being plagued by injuries.
Players develop at different rates and he's missed a lot of development due to injury.

End product literally means to score or assist a goal, it’s a literal meaning not a basic way of judging.

    His end product is abysmal.
