This. Been kidding ourselves on for ages about fan favourites like A Johnston, etc. We all love them, but need upgraded for this level. One of him or Ralston, and a better RB ahead of them, should be our 2 options there.

As for the winger situation, if we’re being brutally realistic about benchmarking ourselves at this level, we need 3 permanently out, Yang loaned out, and 3 new ones in. I’d only keep Palma for the first team, and Forrest as a last-resort. The rest can leave if we want to be a CL team. Even Abada and Maeda can be improved upon within our budget. We shouldn’t have only one winger who has both technique and end product (and even at that he lacks a bit of pace).

 

We were unlucky tonight, it is all about fine lines and we have players that are too predictable and simply not good enough, we need a massive clear out of the deadwood like Forrest, MJ, Taylor, Yang and numerous others so we have a core of good players and not projects.
Jan transfer window is crucial and I hope we are already touting the players we want to move on.

All very frustrating as there's no desire from the paymasters to progress. They seem to accept this is our level and take the pride were a well run business.

This notion "We're not good enough for the CL but would do well in the EL" gonna explain where that comes from our record in the Europa is * as well and add to that Lazio are as 'Europa' a team as you will find they said in commentary they made the CL twice in the last 17 years because a team plays with a ball with stars on it doesn't automatically make them elite.
