I find really strange that he accepted the Celtic job. He has a big ego and there is high possibility he could fail in Scotland which would really dent his reputation. Unless the board is finally going to release some serious funds to release some proper players that Rogers has identified then it’s going to be a torturous season. People may say who cares what sevco are doing but the fact is that if they have got themselves a decent manager who can put a good team on the pitch then we are in serious trouble because the current offering we are being served up is nowhere near good enough.

Everything that Brendan Rodgers said to Celtic TV after his side were held 1-1 at home by Motherwell

The captain summed it up as frustrating. Did Celtic let two points slip away at the end?

Yes. There is no doubt about that. When you have as much as the ball as we had we probably didn't create as much as we would have wanted. We had 80 per cent possession in the game and I would expect us to create more than that. We had opportunities as we got two penalties and we had other opportunities in front of the goal but we just weren't clinical enough today. The players gave everything. The effort, commitment and drive was there to get the goals but it was just that decisive moment from the corner which was a big disappointment.

Do you make any allowances for the international break and people travelling all around the world. Does that play a factor in the tempo at all?

It can do. It was just one of those where Motherwell were here to defend so they sat in deep and we were playing the game in their final third of the field. You can talk about freshness but is no excuse as we have to do better than that.

The goal that Celtic concede has come from the only chance of the half for Motherwell. Has a little bit of organisation been lost around the goal when Motherwell threw some big bodies on a minute or so before the corner?

I think they flooded our box with an extra man but we should still deal with it. The ball gets sent in and it arrives in our six-yard box and it drops and hits their guy and trickles over the line. It is one of those ones where we have to be better in that moment. Whether it is down to organisation or whatever you have to see that. Corners for or against are the decisive moments in the game as they can win and lose you a game or cost you points. That moment was not what we wanted, The players will be down at the moment.

How do you pick them up for the Champions League game in midweek?

It is very easy. It is something that do. We will get in and recover as it is a very honest group of players. We are all disappointed that we haven't picked up all three points especially being in a really good position in the game and that is something we have to be better at. We have no time to dwell on it as we will go again in training tomorrow (Sun) and get out plan ready for Tuesda

I was happy when rodgers was appointed and still back him 100% but there is certainly some doubts creeping in because we are showing a lack of intensity and penetration in our play far too often and it's costing us.

And we absolutely need to starting creating more chances for kyogo, we need our talisman scoring.

Problem is there's too many players not good enough or players who have been bought hoping they are gems but most are going to take time to develop and we need quality in the January window big time .

It is he that has to organize set pieces, if no other staff member does it. It is he that must recognize bad movement from players and tell them what to do instead. These players are good enough to dominate Scotland. I really don't want to find out that Rodgers is actually not good enough to lead them to the 3. league title in a row.

Been very inconsistent. Doesn't seem to be clicking.

Real lack of quality in the squad tbh.

Aye i agree, to have let these * back into a title race after being 7 clear is sickening tbh, some of the goals we lose are laughable.

We've looked disjointed since the first game and still do. Have the odd patch where we click but not enough considering the wage he's probably picking up.

If we don't significantly invest in January, we're as well handing the league over just now.

I just don't trust that we will recruit well. People can say we were caught short by Jota, but we made no attempt to improve the other areas.

Predictable, boring sideways pish with one of the worst squads I've ever seen us have. This might not end well.

I genuinely think people forget how many points we dropped during his last two season of his first stint. The only reason we won the league is because the huns were absolutely dreadful. The style is too easy to park the bus against.

His subs were baffling as well why would you take Kyogo when you need a goal, not like there's a point resting him for our already failed European campaign.

Rodgers is supposed to be an "elite" manager.

Remember when he first came their was an air of excitment/expectation,this time round it seems flat and i really believe the players feel the same way.

I was still entrigued by his homecoming.

That being said, his main attribute is supposed to be players development and getting the best out of a squad.

He has always been tactically-suspect. One only needs to look at the relentless sideways pish we saw in his final season in his first spell, to what we've seen plenty of this season.

He really needs to change some of the tactics, slow side to side football does not suit Kyogo and teams are happy to sit in and defend in the hope of getting something.

Motherwell, Hibs and St.Johnstone all just repeats. All the possession with little end product & missed chances.

I know we have a few injuries that would make a huge difference but we should be hammering them with the team that started today. Far too inconsistent this season.

That's on no one but the manager.

Absolutely, BR wants every goal to be the perfect goal and it ends up us waiting on a bit of magic.

Under Ange in most games we’d have such a high tempo that teams could not sit in against us and if they tried to press or match us our fitness levels were far superior.

The biggest regression has been in the dugout.

Didn't watch the game today but not surprised by the result really.

The football has been absolutely * for the most part. We've scraped so many games thus far and there's been no improvement in Europe despite what some say.

I've said it countless times but he struggles big time to break down defensive blocks. Tedious, uninspiring pish. It's the main reason I didn't want him back, so far all my concerns have just been validated.
