Around 20 surely for 20 odd? 29 is 30 odd not 20 odd.

 

29 is "about 30" when above 30 it would be "about 30 odd"

I ended up googling this to see if I was gone mental but there is no consensus on it apparently. A lot of people think it means 30-something. Others say it means about 30. I always knew it to mean about 30.

Like if someone asked how old is “insert name here”, and I knew they were about 30. If I said 30-odd to me that clearly means 28-33 or so. These people are trying to tell me this guy could be 39 and that’s not a problem. * that’s 40 odd.

 

Thirty odd always meant Thirty something to me, rest of ye are obviously aff yer heads.

 

Mate, listen to what we’re all (or mostly) telling you - or better yet, look it up! - ‘20-odd’ = ‘in the 20s’, not ‘approximately 20’.
