    I’ve agreed with that.

It wasn’t me who brought up the showers, mate. If you actually read what I’ve posted you’ll see I say there’s legitimate criticism of Lawwell. I’ve never said otherwise so stop talking *, cheers.

Yet Rodgers still came back. Howe didn’t knock us back because of the showers though.
    We clearly do this.
I just don’t think it matters within the context of that situation. Lennon has just secured a treble after Rodgers left, had previous success at the club. It was a situation where both parties wanted the same outcome, there was no need to impress Lennon. It’s a complete distraction that merits far less discussion than it generates.
I don’t know if they seriously never considered other managers or whether Lawwell’s quote was just public backing of the man they hired. But I’ll take it at face value and assume what he said was true. They had an interim manager come in after the turmoil of Rodgers leaving. They trusted said man to do the job well and appointed their first choice.

I didn’t want Lennon and it could be viewed as the wrong decision; despite the first season being good and having mitigating circumstances in the second season. However all of that considered, the shower thing is a total irrelevance that you’re clinging on to in a tenuous attempt to paint Lawwell as being unprofessional. Given how highly regarded he’s thought of within the wider football community, I’ll toss your opinion in the bin where it belongs.

Yes about one or 2 sentences of agreeing with criticism and screeds and screeds of distraction. You're arguing with so many in here you're coming across as a shill for the board.

I don’t care if that’s how I come across, I’m just a fan sharing my opinion. On this occasion that opinion goes against the popular narrative. Not a big deal.

So you are happy to take Lawwell’s word at face value regarding him not even looking at other options, but disagree that him then appointing his buddy in the shower and completely ignoring all other available options is acting unprofessionally? That’s what you’re saying right?

I said I wasn’t sure. As in, I have my doubts but I’ve no way to know otherwise, but took it at face value for the purposes of discussion.
For the * millionth time, the shower thing is an irrelevance.

Guess we just have different expectations as to how the football club should act in situations. You’re happy for us to carry on like we are playing in the local pub league, I just expect a bit better.

Yep refusing to give new deals to likes of Ledley and Samaras who were key members of lennons team but the defacto director of football knew better.

Still think they held off in sacking him bcoz like most tory * they don't ever like having to admit they are wrong.

Credit where it's due, the big man played a blinder sitting on his throne smoking his cigar allowing the minions to sign guys like Palma and Yang. Great to see.

Ledley was a great player for us but he was a complete mercenary, we didn't * up anything with him, we got a fee with six months left on his deal when he was running it down to move as a free agent and get a bigger payday for himself, same as he did at Cardiff before us and Crystal Palace after.

I dunno, was a good few quotes from him at the time about planning on staying but suppose it mite just of been talk.

I do think he'd have been 1 that lennon would have wanted to keep tho

Hope he gets stuck in the lift for 12 hours with Rod Stewart, a karaoke set and the Tory manifesto.
