Appointing Deila and Lennon wasn’t embarrassing. They’re both decent coaches that ultimately didn’t quite work out in the end despite some success. Like with players we’re not going to get every managerial appointment correct.

It’s kind of obvious why we have been * on the European stage and consistently winning trophies domestically. It’s the elephant in the room everyone knows but won’t admit.

The Huns went bust in 2012 - quite rightly they did but no one can deny it’s a huge reason why we have dominated so consistently since then. Let’s not kid ourselves on here as to why there’s been domestic dominance vs European failure. I have put it in simple terms and I know there’s other factors at play.

It’s a systemic approach to being barely better than the nearest domestic competition. There is no European ambition because the board have no ambition. Therefore it never surprises me when we fail in Europe.

There is an almighty caveat that goes with the domestic success in Lawwell’s time in charge. It’s no fault of his or ours by the way, but it does add context to his success here. I think you know what it is.

Appointing a manager in the shower after a cup final is absolutely embarrassing. It’s not even what you would expect a pub team to do. It also showed our total lack of any sort of ambition to basically ignore any other potential managers out there, and appoint someone who had not long been sacked/left by mutual consent at Hibs.

How many Edouards do we get per each Amido Balde, Vakkoun Issouf Bayo, Mo Bangura, Nadir Ciftci, Patryck Klimala etc.

How many Jota's per Charly Musonda, Lewis Morgan, Tonev, Berget, Rabu Ibrahim etc.

Those are just a few off the top off my head, all within the last 10 years. There's probably been double that amount of pure dross.

The budget options only work when you invest well and have a decent hit rate. We waste more money on * players that will never make it than we would just buying players with decent quality/experience.

Matt O'Riley is a good one though. Ange's first season was really a golden era for our transfer business. Weird how it coincided with Lawwell's "sabbatical".

    Yes, Poland joining the EU.

I hear Lawwell only sanctioned the Boruc signing because he thought we could pay him £3/hour.

I think 5 of they strikers cost the same as Eddy, and none were loans to make sure they were worth the money first.

Jota and Musonda are great examples btw, how much money would Musonda have cost at that point? Probably £15m upwards, very highly rated then. Imagine we paid that, instead of the loan.

Ange’s way was the exact same style, but very quick, very informed, very competent and with a spot on plan behind the signings. That’s operating it at it’s peak.

Lawwell’s sabatical also seen 2 key players get sold extremely undervalued in GG and JJ btw. The guys a *, a complete arrogant *. But he has positive points.

Personally, he’s that divisive a figure he should just * off.

No there’s really not, 2003 up against a cheating financially doping team he brought success.

And then upon a ‘return’ when they were piling money in again they don’t have, running up loss after loss year on year… we won 4 Trebles.

There absolutely is. Because from 2012 up until a few years ago, we basically only had to be better than Aberdeen and Motherwell, or some appalling hun teams. If the CEO couldn’t deliver domestic success in that period then we had major problems. We basically had a free run at getting into the CL every year. Something else that we * up more often than not by not backing managers.

Nah * that, he was in charge 9 years before that, and he was large part of what caused them to implode. Him helping grow the club, getting us competing in the latter stages of the CL, turning us into a profitable self assured business, through a * credit crunch… still successful, forcing them to go down a route to try and keep up that destroyed them.

He was at the helm up against a cheating side, and handled it to such an extent they kept doing it until they died.

Was Messi’s first contract being written on a napkin in a restaurant embarrassing?

I felt deflated when Lennon was appointed second time (although the first season was good), but that was because I wanted someone new. I couldn’t give a * if he was offered the job in the showers or via an email or phone call.

Taking * players on loan didn't save us any money though because we were still buying a load of * players in the 2-4m price bracket alongside that. Lawwell's formula is still very much splash cash far and wide on loads of punts and hoping it strikes gold somewhere.

Couple that with his management of the Celtic brand which is basically using Celtic as a knock off Home Bargains and punting loads of cheap Chinese crap by slapping a Celtic crest on it and adding a 1000% markup.

His leadership of Celtic is basically using the Celtic support as a source of free cash so that he can play some kind of low risk investment banker type role with our playing squad. At the same time as trying to stamp out political expression within the support.

He doesn't give a * about Celtic, what the club stands for, what the supporters stand for, our successes on the pitch or anything like that. All he cares about is that we keep buying Celtic-branded tat every year so that he can keep filling our squad with * players in the hope that one of them will turn out to be the next Wanyama/Van Dijk so he can give himself a million pound bonus.

I did give a * when he openly admitted that they didn’t even bother to look at other applicants.

It was unprofessional, incompetent and arrogant in equal measure.

They had their first choice. Someone who has been very successful in his time at Celtic bar that final season. I’ve long since stopped caring about that given what has followed.

I'm sure his son was the best candidate for the job, rather than a jolly old case of nepotism.

In before some sycophant mentions Man City (where, let’s be honest, he was one of a cast of dozens, if not hundreds).
