I’ve asked this a few times and not had a response yet. We must have the worst security in the world if a group can break into our stadium on a CL match day, set up a full display and then leave the stadium before re-entering again later, all totally unchallenged. Questions need asked around this, because it’s * wild.

 

Agreed and also need to ask the question why the board didn’t tell stewards to remove the display 2 hours before the game

 

This is going to get really messy.

 

It looks a good reason (one of them anyway) to ban them when you see it written in a statement. When you actually consider how this could have happened and been allowed to go ahead, you realise it’s outrageous. If a group of people can break in and do this, Celtic have major safety issues to deal with. A group could plant anything inside the ground and leave unchallenged.

 

As much as I get the point your making. If someone breaks in somewhere you cant defend them by saying the security is * the point is they still broke in

 

I think what the other poster is getting at, along with myself, is that if Celtic were hellbent on the display not going ahead, it could have been stopped. I’m not buying that a group simply entered the ground unchallenged, were afforded the time to set up a coordinated display, left the ground also unchallenged and then come back in for kickoff. There’s far fetched stories, then there is this.

See when you say "not the cleverest of wording" that must be the understatement of the year. The wording and the timing were a * disgrace.

You're arguing about celtic Park security but talking about an incident we know very little about so it's hard to give an opinion.

Why do you think the board would need to fabricate all the incidents against the GB when they could probably have banned them for that banner alone?

Also, the board new full well that there would be thousands of Palestine flags at the athletico game, they had to put a statement out for the sake of showing uefa and lessening the disciplinary outcome

 

I’m going on what the board have said in their statement claiming the GB illegally gained access to the stadium to set up a display. In other words, broke in. How do you explain that happening on a CL match day? How is that even possible without getting caught? I’ve never once said the board have fabricated all the stories. That’s you fabricating something of your own there.

They couldn’t have banned them for the banner alone for the reason I said previously. It could be construed as support for Hamas, but that’s just an opinion. Very dangerous road to go down if they ban supporters on an opinion rather than facts.

The board are a shower of spineless *. That’s why they put out the statement. It was embarrassing at best. Dress it up any way you want, you won’t convince me otherwise on that.

 

As I've said before, I wouldn't be shocked if this ends soon after the AGM.

Saves them having to talk about why Brendan has not ben backed properly, ahead of the CL.

So are you saying the GB didn't illegally access Celtic Park and the board fabricated it or they did illegally access CP but you've no idea how they got away with it?

The rest of the stuff alleged by the board, are they all fabricated or do you think they happened? If you think they happened surely they have the right to take action of some sort.

Mate the banner and timing of it was shocking and the board could easily have taken action on that alone.

I get that you and many on here don't like the board but the GB have brought this on themselves.

 

I’m just not sure how it would even be possible to illegally gain access, set up the display and get back out all unchallenged. Surely you must think that doesn’t add up? The display could then have easily been removed if the board were hellbent on it not going ahead. Not as if they haven’t done that before. It was done with a Palestinian display before.

The pyro at Feyenoord. How can they pinpoint that is down to GB members? Genuinely?

The intimidating stewards at Easter Road seems pretty laughable if you go by what was said from pretty much all of our fans at that game. When it was a complete disaster trying to get in the ground. So was it only GB members who would be annoyed at that and perhaps giving the stewards a bit of abuse? All the rest of our fans would have just been happy and jovial about the situation no doubt. The stewards probably were getting it tight. From most I would suspect.

The banner is down to opinions as to what you interpret it to mean. I don’t think they could have been banned for it. You do of course. Matter of opinion, like the banner itself.

I don’t like the board more for holding us back and turning us into a laughing stock in Europe to be honest.

 

If that was the GB running on to the pitch, then they're just making life difficult for themselves.
