There’s a centre half at Celtic just now who is comfortably a better defender for us than VVD was.

Suppose that may be viewed as controversial by some so that’s my entry :56:

The Port/Greenock is the biggest Celtic leaning area outside of Glasgow.

    * go on about Coatbridge and Hamilton but * off.

I agree he's our greatest ever player. Not sure I can see past him for greatest Celt too.

Larsson is by far our most talented player.

Stein is definitely arguable, as greatest ever, but Larsson chose us when he had so many other options, and football was truly international. So he'd be it for me.

Just never thought of it as having a big Celtic following. Not saying that isn't the case, just surprised you mentioned it.

It’s one of the towns that that had a lot of Irish immigration back in the day,but in my experience anyone who I ever worked with from there was a hun,bar one - but I think he was originally from across the motorway. No harm to anyone from Hamilton but just never viewed it as a Celtic stronghold of any sorts.

Been against this until very recently, but to kick on from where we are now as a club... we need to leave Scottish football.

Think every town on the West coast had plenty of Irish immigrants. Just never thought of Hamilton as being the most obvious.

Coatbridge and Motherwell (Wishie) would be the Celtic areas around about there for me.

Hamilton's not really that bad, there are Catholic bits across and it, but I'd say South Lanarkshire has more of a reputation of being hun territory.

North Lanarkshire has far more Catholic areas but more trouble as well. Sort of place where it's like, naw that's the hun side of the road. I'd honestly rate it as far more sectarian than Glasgow.

Neil McCanns family lived in the Port at time he joined Deadco. They were Celtic supporters but that changed after that and then his parents house had windows smashed in because he was considered a traitor.

I thought so too, but to kick on in what ways exactly?
Man city and money has truly changed football, if we went to england we could possibly end up some mid table side.

Possibly, but i was thinking more an Atlantic type league. Scandinavian clubs, Netherlands, Belgium perhaps.

Instantly have access to better officials. A clear bonus.

A better TV deal as the one we have it's pish. Sky don't give a * about Scotland despite its high subscribers. It's quality and time given is pathetic compared to BT previously. Switching channels during broadcasting to accommodate others. * that.

More cash from better deals, teams. More cash, more options you have. If the right people are in charge, it won't be spunked away or unwisely.

The standard would across the club would have to rise. We'd have to be better.

It benefit the rest of Scottish fitba as well. Competition would grow, attendances etc.

We need to do more to improve the standard of our domestic league by giving more money back which can be distributed wealth to teams to improve infrastructure, stadium, training grounds, etc
