I've got two but l'll test the water with this one...........

James Forest has played hundreds of games for us but IMO I don't think he would have got away with the inconsistent form and amount of injuries at any other club

I would say that the Lisbon Lions are NOT the MOST IMPORTANT Celtic players ever.
Once I get the abuse I will say why.

I don’t get worked up about the strip. My step daughter finds out which one I like best from my wife and gets me it for Christmas

Every manager has rated him enough I guess, he just out lasts them..:56: contract extension under Ange, who knows an attacking player, probably says it all..

    What's your next one?

It will be different for everyone.

I think you need to be alive or at an age you're watching us to appreciate things and be emotionally involved. Some people probably force it when they weren't to seem like better fans.

The seville squad is my equivalent of the Lisbon Lions.

For me it feels like he’s a club player that no matter who the manager is, he is to remain at the club.

You can't just leave that hanging like that! :56:
I'm genuinely interested in who you think are the most important.

He's definitely not thinking of the Seville squad. Without meaning any offence to an excellent team, the Lions were much more important than that.

Can't see someone like Ange giving him an extension if he didn't rate him tho.

I disagree mate, you didn't have to be alive to know the Lisbon Lions are the most important players in our history..

    Jock Weir.
His hat trick against Dundee in final game of 47-48 season saved Celtic from the humiliation of being relegated.
He actually did it with perfect hat trick.
Right foot, left foot and head.
Not only that it would have tarnished the legacy of Celtic’s greatest goalscorer Jimmy McGrory who was manager at the time

Aye he popped up today on another site, he did ensure our safety but other results actually went our way too, so we could have lost and still survived..

So the Lions remain in their place.. and for me even if he had saved us..

Aye I.just meant they aren't as important to me as the Seville team etc. That's the best team I've seen.

    Right, tin hat on...........

When the "Greatest ever Celt" was voted on it was just after the passing of the great Jimmy Johnston and IMO this influenced the voting due to the timing. I think there were better choices as in Willie Maley, Jimmy McGrory, Jock Stein and Billy McNeill

That’s why I put him as most important but not greatest. That’s still Jinky although my favourite is John Thomson

    Interesting...

Don't think that's controversial, I'd say Jinky is our best ever player..

But would have Big Jock and Cesar ahead as 'Greatest Ever Celt'

    Greatest ever:
    Manager - Jock Stein

    Defender : Cesar

    Midfielder: Jinky

Forward: Jimmy McGrory - top British goalscorer in history.

Larsson is our greatest ever player for me. He could play in any time period comfortably. Johnstone could as well but for me it's Henrik.

But I think it's a generational thing as my da can't see past Johnstone.

Van Dijk is probably the best defender I'll see with us, but obviously didn't peak with us so it's hard to make an argument for him as the best we've had overall. But in terms of what he's gone on to do and his attributes I dint think many best him.
