He was fine in the first one, pretty good defensively but nothing going forwards. Subbed off twice injured in at least 2 if memory serves. Last one was down to Ange playing him when unfit I'd say.

Guessing this is sarcasm but if not, no chance.

During that spell under ange it looked like he had it all. Quick, strong, good going forward and excellent defensively.

You dont just lose that with a system change, its 100% down to his fitness, he's just back from two injuries close to each other.

I think we'll see the best of him in the second half of the season, squad will be settled then as well.

 

I don't think (and never have thought) that he is excellent; but he's a good RB. Certainly not a big problem like some other positions.

 

Suggesting he'* his ceiling and won't go any further. He was bought as part of getting us further in Europe is my take, he won't do that, hence sell.

Not saying he's not a good player generally, but his value will go down the longer he turns in performances like tonight, and he's not the answer. So sell and move on is my suggestion.

Was particularly honking tonight after a bright start, so that might not have helped my assessment.

But also what I said it true too . They aren't mutually exclusive.

 

I respectfully and strongly disagree. I think Johnston is someone we should be keeping for a while yet.

 

He's not done anything this season, but hopefully you are right and he comes good.

 

Not been at his best this season but anyone that wants him sold needs to get in the bin.

Gone backwards under Rodgers no denying that. He didn't turn into a bad player overnight hopefully just a blip in form

 

He needs to improve his positioning at crosses, he has been caught napping many a time with balls over the top of him.

Needs to work on that as well as being more threatening as an attacking full back. Certainly not high on the issues list, there are 5/6 other areas before you get to RB.

 

So ralston has a good season . Offering a lot going forward and scored important goals and assists before getting injured . Even this season put in against rangers and had a good game despite not playing much ....

Yet as soon as he makes a mistake or has a poor game fans slate him and say he's not good enough for celtic .

Johnstone all season has offered nothing all seaso. and contributed to at least 3 of our goals last night .... yet fans still make excuses such as " not a bad player over night " etc.

 

Funnily enough, I wouldn't actually disagree. He's just quite good at everything; but he's not actually excellent at anything (not even physical strength). It's an interesting contrast with Ralston, who has both some outstanding strengths and some terrible weaknesses.

 

Was poor last night as he has been all season really but we definitely need 5 or 6 positions before we get to RB haha! People wanting him sold is strange behaviour

 

Agreed.
Lustig lacked pace. Juranovic was suspect positionally. Frimpong is shorter and weaker. Elhamed was made of glass.
