The fact anyone has watched us this season and genuinely feels any hope of getting anywhere near 3rd is admirable

It’s been the same for years, the last time we played well in Europe was the 13/14 season, nothing really shocks me anymore, our board seem to like it this way, until we get them out it will never change.

 

Do you really not understand what my point is? A small club with a far smaller budget than ourselves managed to beat Atletico a few days ago. We were battered by them. Yes, the red made a difference, no doubt. But do you honestly believe even if we had 11 men for the whole game we would have beaten Atletico tonight? You could probably count the Tims who believe that on the fingers of one hand.

Because, I said from when the draw was made that we were getting nothing in Madrid... and that was with 11. With 10, it was always going to be a doing. It's not the key game. The key game was the Lazio one. I also think we've been quite unlucky in this campaign. Still two games to go. Who knows? Lazio are definite favourites in Rome; but it's not a foregone conclusion like this was.
