football intelligence costs a lot of money, we have an o Riley and a kyogo but that is as far as it gets. The rest are repeating mistakes as they just aren't intelligent enough to play at this level.

 

It’s genuinely hard to be too critical, scandalous decision to send Maeda off leaves you a man short for 70 minutes. You’d have to be delusional in the extreme to expect anything less than 4 or 5. If it goes 6 or 7 then fair enough but a tough task was made impossible through a terrible decision.

Still doesn't add up though why Rodgers agreed to come back to this * show.

His stock wasn't that low not to get another EPL job within a year.
He'd also have got plenty of jobs in Europe if he wanted one as well.

I just don't understand why he returns (or anyone of any real ability/reputation) comes here, when the board run this club so pathetically and with * all ambition or support for European football.

Also finding myself rooting for any teams playing against teams like Antwerp, Young Boys, Benfica etc, same point as us, hoping they ship more goals.

 

Don't get me wrong I agree about the summer transfers but the whole ethos of how we play in Europe is laughably naive. We are literally the softest touch in CL football atm. Our tactics, formations, game-management and nous all need an overhaul if we are to compete (and by that I mean qualify from the group-stage or make the Europa league and basically just not get battered every game) in CL group-stage football.

 

This is what San Marino fans must feel like pumped every game ..that's what we are really the San Marino of the champions league

Atletico aren't one of the best teams in the world? What? Group stage, quarter finalists, last 16, quarter finalists, last 16 in the Champions League. In La Liga they've finished 3rd, 3rd, 1st, 3rd, 2nd.

They're not one of the world's best teams? They're undoubtedly in the top twenty teams in world football.

 

If you watched Johnston at the world cup you realised how poor he was then against top class players couldn't lay a glove on them. SPL fodder masks most of it.
