Only joking but I do think they looked the type of team than Lennon or Strachan could get a draw away to by playing a defensive line up and just sitting in.

Felt like they didn't have a lot of pace about them and they don't really naturally take the game to you, they are happy to sit deeper and try and counter you.

It's not been our style to go and sit in and look for a draw away in Europe though for a long time, we'll probably do ok going forward but get picked off 2 or 3 times at the back.

Feel like we could take a wee spanking, thought that for the home tie though and was pleasantly surprised at how well we competed against an elite side so who knows.

Pace and movement will be the key because although Atletico aren’t the type of team to pin you in for 90 minutes they will pressurise our back line far more at home than they did at Parker’s. Counter attacks will be crucial to get us up the park.

Hate to say it, in fact disappointed with myself for even thinking it, but we need to go Lennon / Strachan.

Say tight as * to them, take a few yellows, defend with our lives, and break when the numbers allow it.

Giving them too much space or trying to keep them on the back foot could see us take a doing.

Need to box clever with this mob. Get in and about them, be cynical and strong in tackles, frustrate them.

    Problem with 352 is Taylor.

Would be keen to go 4231 with McGregor and Bernardo deep with at MOR at 10.

Maeda can play wide left instead of Taylor in a 3-5-2.

I do suspect the second part of your post is what Rodgers might go for. But even then, Scales should play LB and Philips CB.

The only other player who can play LB besides a tired Taylor.

We’ve been too slack defensively this year, conceding decent chances against SPFL teams every week so it makes games like tomorrow night almost impossible for us to get a result.

I would like to see a change in shape for this.

    5-3-2

    Hart

    Johnston Phillips CCV Scales Taylor

    O’Riley McGregor Holm

    Kyogo Maeda
Stay in the game for 60 mins then go to normal shape with fresh legs in Palma, Oh, Yang etc

not really sure about this, think I’d rather he was having a go at us as that’d be signifying concern on his part, still it’s respectful(maybe he was briefed respect is big with our mutant neighbours) so …

    Simone about Celtic and Tuesday,

We know it’s going to be a very, very difficult game. There is equal respect between Atletico and Celtic. It’s a team I have respected since I sat down to talk about them. They play a style of football I really like, so I have full respect for Celtic.”

We'll be defending in our box frequently, and Philips is good for that, offering extra height. For that very reason, Scales should play instead of Taylor at LB, if we do go 4 at the back.

Cant see it. I fully expect to see the 4-3-3. Its not a game for trying new things.

as mediocre as Taylor has been this season, some of his best games for us have been in big matches.
