I’m always the optimist against these teams in Europe, but will be shocked if we come away with anything less than a 3-0 defeat.

 

Probably the main game for us is making sure Feyenoord beat Lazio, leaving it a shoot out between us and Lazio for 3rd.

 

I think this will be a very one-sided game.

4-3 to the Celtic

 

Just looking for a positive performance, with none of the statutory * ups we usually get away in Europe..

Make them work for it and if they outplay us, so be it..

We can take a bit of heart on how many problems Feyenoord caused there..

 

We will need to be very streetwise against that mob as they are the masters of the dark arts. Don't want to give the ref any excuse to award them cheap decisions. Hopefully Joe Hart will have the game of his life

 

Just hope we give a good account of ourselves

The good thing is, the sheep are still in Europe, so they may be more tired than us next weekend.

 

Pretty much how I see it.

 

They lost on Friday at Las Palmas. Hopefully we don’t receive the backlash from that. I’d be amazed if we get anything. Just hoping for a good gritty performance. I’d be tempted to go with Iwata and McGregor holding with O’Riley in front of them.

 

I think we'll go for this first half, don't see us starting in a 352. Hatate is a big miss but we showed last time out we can outperform them even without him in the team. Bernardo wasn't great yesterday but I'd still start him - he did well off the bench last time out against them and has that lofted ball down the line in his locker which will cause them a lot of problems the way they play with their full backs.

Be brave on the ball and move it quickly middle to front. It's easier said than done, but it's how to trouble them as Feyenoord showed. We need to keep the little mistakes to an absolute minimum, but again that's easier said than done, the step-up from our bread and butter to European football is massive, the passing channels are all blocked off, the easy pass is covered, there seems to be two banks of 8 facing us......... We WILL find it hard, and we will give the ball away a LOT more than normal, but it won't be because our guys are suddenly having a stinker, it's because it's far more difficult to do even the normally simple things. We need to keep on it and hope we carry a bit of luck on the night also. I'm the eternal optimist and obviously want to beat them, but taking anything from them would be a great achievement.......... C'mon the Tic !!

Left back position worries me, go with Taylor or Bernabei who hasn’t played for ages.
