Wasn't Wijndal supposed to be outstanding? He hasn't been at Ajax for very long!

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I'd take him in a heartbeat and this could be exactly the place he needs to come to resurrect his career.

 

He has been plagued by injury since signing for Ajax he was just back when they played at Ibrox last year and went off injured again.

Another AZ full back worth a look would be Sugawara, particularly if Johnston moved on in the summer. He only has a contract to June 25 so could be available for a fair price and looks a cracking all action full back.

 

I'd love Sugawara. He really impressed me when we played AZ. TBF most of their team, I'd take. Thought they were very good.

 

Yeah, likewise I thought he was a standout, Christie had been flying at that point under Ange and Sugawara kept him really quiet over there, whilst being a threat going the other way.

De Wit the attacking midfielder at AZ is out of contract in the summer and one I would go for. He gets a lot of goals and assists and is a really aggressive player who likes to attack the box the way Rodgers has O’Riley doing. He’s still only 25 so coming into his peak years, on a free he would be a great piece of business.

 

I'd seriously consider a couple of SPL players
In Miovski and Shankland. Think Shankland maybe the safer option, but Miovski is younger.

As backup to Kyogo think they'd do a grand job.

 

Miovski is in theory a good shout. However, Aberdeen would not sell cheap, and that would mean we overpay for a guy intended to be backup to Kyogo. Also, weakening Aberdeen is not necessarily in our interest. They have a knack for ruining Rangers' day.

Honestly, the guy we need is someone in the vein of Christian Ramirez. Old, so won't mind being on the bench, but can still do a job. Yes, I'm aware he went back to America. I'll get flak for this, but the reality is that we can't attract a really good player to be backup to someone.

 

Christian Ramirez is pish, couldn't even get a game for Aberdeen at points last season. We can do much better.

 

Sure, there's probably an old striker of that height and build with a better goalscoring record. But we're going to have to look in that direction.

 

Scotland seem to be producing a lot of good fullbacks at the moment. Any young Scottish LBs that look good and aren't at the stage where another team is likely to outbid us?

We don’t really buy old players though. I’d like to see us go for Miovski. Pay the going rate and get him in January. Rodgers would make him a better player. Kyogo needs rested
