I dont know if i understand great option mate. He looks mobile, but i think he lacks quality in the final third and as a striker at Celtic you need to show that.

I do agree that 10 - 15 minutes at the end of games isnt ideal for him, but he had minutes in pre season and just didnt give a good account of himself.

Also the chance he had vs Rangers when he was essentially put clean through was really poor. But a loan might do him wonders. In any case, we need to bring in better quality in January.

A loan could be his only chance - if it doesn't happen though, he's not gonna make it here, sadly.

He needs more minutes, we never saw much of GG until Kyogo got injured and then he found his form with more gametime.

I wouldn’t write off anyone from pre-season, still mind under Ronny when GMS looked like Messi during pre-season then was pish all season :giggle1:

End of the day he’s only 22 and I think will come good, but we definitely need another option if Rodgers isn’t going to use him.

People keep saying "he needs more minutes"

None of us see what goes on in training, maybe he's not getting more minutes bcoz he's as honking in training as he has been in majority of his performances on the pitch this season.

At the moment it looks like Rodgers's mind is made up on him

GG was in exactly the same boat until Kyogo picked up an injury and he got a decent run to build on, some on here talk about him now like he's an absolute legend, but before that happened there were some in his first six months calling for him to just immediately be sold in the january window and cut our losses, because in his limited cameos he never scored, looked like he had the touch of an elephant and was just never going to cut it here. And then still that's partly why he ended up leaving, even after he'd proven himself Kyogo was still getting 90% of the minutes. Kyogo is just too good to drop, that doesn't reflect poorly on Oh now or GG then.

He does need more minutes, and same goes for guys like Iwata, Holm or Bernardo, but they're all in a similar situation of just having established players ahead of them so they don't get much chance to consistently show anything, Hatate being out injured again could be the making of one of them it they step up and take the chance now.

Good point mate but I think the 1 major difference is GG was an Ange signing so he clearly saw something in him originally to sign him whereas Rodgers has inherited Oh

I like him. Attitude seems spot on, and just unlucky that he's second fiddle to a world class striker.

Honestly although he signed under Ange he doesn't really fit the profile of an Ange signing, I think he's someone we had scouted and he approved of because we needed people in, a big unit that's not very mobile never really felt like his style of player, and Oh did feel much more like it as his replacement, still plenty big and strong but much more mobile, on paper a happy medium somewhere between Kyogo and GG.

Especially considering his age I think we've got a a player here, just unfortunate again when does he get minutes, Kyogo is too good.

The problem is, at the moment he isnt good enough for more minutes.

Its not even just about pre season, he just hasnt taken the chances when they have come his way.

And i didnt necessarily write him off, just at the moment he isnt the quality required and, like you say, he needs game time. If we can bring in better and get him a loan its a no brainer.

Aye wouldn't be against loaning him out at some point. Maybe to someone in this league? But he's someone i'd like to keep on our books for a while yet. Think he's got potential to be a really good player for us.

We can't loan him out, he's our only half decent cover for Kyoto up front

I probably should have added after getting a more seasoned striker in as cover lol but it's still something I'd like us to do.

Loan him to Aberdeen, its worked well so far :fear:

He still adds a good option with his physicality and work rate, issue is he tries too hard now when he get 10/15mins and ends up counterproductive.

Another striker will definitely be a priority in January.

He should've started today. He never gets 90 minutes, he'll simply never develop like that. I mean, today he was thrown on with Forrest and Johnston to provide chances. You're * the moment you step on the pitch with that. Let him start a game and play with our most quality players when they're fresh.

If he had started, perhaps the team would've switched their play up early enough to batter through Hibs. He set-up a few attacks, but needs the team to understand his strengths. And for that, he needs to start.

These are the times Oh's came on this season.....

    76
    69
    82
    71
    77
    86
    88
    72
    65

Today was the most he's played all season and he was with M.Johnston and Forrest and got 10 touches of the ball.

49 minutes of football in a month he's had including today, so only 24 minutes the whole of October until today.

He's only played 27 minutes at home this season.

The Scales ball over the top was pretty much the only service he got, Kyogo was feeding off scraps as well. We should of been going direct to him more often when he came on.
