Probably my most controversial one about us is about 60% of fans who I’d say are the most obsessed with us, follow us everywhere, consume all media about us

Are somehow clueless about the team and football in general is something they don’t fully understand. And I think it’s cos most I know that I’m talking about here, only follow us, and don’t watch anything but Celtic.
1 or 2 Ireland as well. Nothing against that but somehow some that go for it just seem so fake in the support for the national team they say they support.

More a slogan. And I’m pretty sure we’ve all met the type I’m talking about here. If you’ve not, it might be you everycunt else knows as the type

Atmosphere and singing at Parkhead isn’t as good as it could/should be, round me in 408 hardly anyone sings, like they’re tourists sitting back enjoying the GB creating the atmosphere for them, really * me off

Ahh had tickets in 406 and 410.

Got pished went to a game once, joined in with the GB. Got stared at, like I was weird as *

Wasn’t quite pished enough apparently sank back in my seat with a riddy. Was against Hearts as well that, usually can get a decent atmosphere. Went round the stadium to with my mate up the back rows of the Jock Stein and it was bouncing, with a perfect view of a Wanyama screamer 1-0. Other side of the stadium 2nd half is one of the best atmospheres I’ve seen at Parkhead, outwith Europe and the Scum. 1st half, in 406, rotten.

Everytime Celtic score the theme from BBC's The Lion The Witch And The Wordrobe should be played.

I can probably explain that. I used to be mega into football when I was young, watching whatever games I could; but I fell out of love with football about 12-13 years ago because of what it was becoming. After that, I only watched Celtic for a very long time. Last season, I sometimes watched a bit of CL if I had nothing better to do; but I have only watched us so far this season. I have watched highlights of some of the Spurs games just for Ange (I said I wouldn't but I was wrong).

Football has never been so well served: you can watch games from anywhere in the world and there are whole YouTube channels devoted to analysing games (I often watch and enjoy these and look to see if I can see any of the patterns in our games!); but football itself sucks. All the best players are so concentrated in the top half of the EPL and the top 3 or 4 in Spain, Germany and Italy (plus PSG) that it just spoils the game.

The same is true in Scotland, btw. I know to most people I won't seem right in the head for saying this, but I think income in the Scottish league should be distributed a bit more equally to make the league more competitive. I'd like to see 50% of revenue (minus non-player operating costs!) put into a common pot and divided up between the teams according to some formula, with the team that finished lowest the previous year getting the largest share of the pot (say, 15%) and the team that won the league getting least (say 5%).

Pretty much agree with this. Think Josip was prone to some positional errors in his time here as well though. Good player all the same but we’ve upgraded for sure imo.

Always loved Matthews. Unfortunately for him though he wasn’t as good as Frimpong, Juranovic, AJ or Lustig :giggle1:

I don’t get to many games but I remember being at a game and being amazed at Matthews’ work rate. He was * everywhere man. Quick too and solid as *.

I've been going to Parkhead since the 60's and I think the atmosphere definitely isn't as good now as it was. Not only did we have the noise coming from the jungle back then but also from the Celtic End and most parts of the main stand. Yes, we do have occasions now where it's absolutely jumping such as against the huns or on big European nights but, most of the time, few fans give it laldy (apart from the GB, the Bhoys and a section at the very back of the Jock Stein Stand).

He was good defensively because of his recovery pace. Constantly wrong side of his opponent.

How many times did you hear "tremendous tackle Didi" because he was woefully out of position after shanking it with Henrik et al waiting for a cross.

He had some outstanding moments no doubt but consistently he was chronic. He had some of the greatest Celtic forwards to hit yet he probably had less assists than Tony Ralston.

Oh is rotten. He's got no first touch, can't pass five yards, can't hold up the ball and just comes on and bundles about all over the pitch.

On the rare occasion he does score, we're normally 3-0 up by then anyway. Massive downgrade on Giakoumakis.

I think Oh is a good player. He just hasn't had the chance to get into any rhythm to show it. He's done a few good things again today and unlucky not to score.

We've won 5 trebles in the past 7 years and tbh we've only really been allowed to properly enjoy 2 of them.

18/19 was spoiled by the Lennon appointment, 19/20 by Covid so we had to play it the following season in front of no fans during that horror season, and 21/22 by the fact we knew it was Ange's last game. In my view all these factors outside our control meant that you couldn't just sit down and bask in the achievement in the way you could for 16/17 and 17/18, there was always something ominous lingering over things.

Still remember the day Lennon was appointed, legitimately ruined the cup final win for me.

Also agree on last seasons, I wouldn't say it was ruined, but it was very bittersweet since we all knew Ange was gone shortly after.

I have always felt not enough is made of the run of trebles. An invincible treble was insane, then a double treble was even more insane and unheard of. Then another two trebles after that. One of the most significant and successful periods of the club's history and we should bring it up more.

Said it a couple years ago but when rangers died and we had the league to ourselves, then battering out repeated trebles once the new club were back up, that there was a real risk that some of our fans would start to get spoiled by success and see trebles as just a normal thing we should be doing and not a special achievement anymore, I think there is a real sense on entitlement built up in a section of our support now.

The younger fans have definitely been spoiled. Without sounding like Celtic Da, anybody who remembers the nick of us in the early 90's will appreciate every bit of success we get. I certainly do and don't take it for granted.

It definitely isn’t made us much of as it should be. It’s * peerless.

We have fans that say consistently we should be far and away dominant compared to Rangers. I’ve always pointed out, we * are. 5 trebles out of 7 is madness, up until BR’s first season I think we had 4 in our history.

    The Quadruple Treble is insane.

It’s also the reason I point out despite how it ended and how much people want to talk down on his management, Neil Lennon is one of our most successful managers ever and shooing away his success is downplaying just what we’ve done.

When we stopped the ten I can remember the penny dropping for me that we’re a team that’s supposed to win things. I’d never experienced it before, and they *, I despised them due to the arrogance they had in their success. I hate it when I see our fans display that same sort of arrogance.
