Each CL performance has been a improvement on the last.

Gives hope to the long-term project.

What attacks? We were pinned back for most of the second half.

Forrest is experienced in Europe. Oh isn’t, they would have got constant fouls off him throwing himself about

Deserves praise for the first half. We were comfortable and looked good going forward, definitely one of our best halves in European football for years.

Equally, he deserves an absolute bollocking for his second half game management and substitutions.

Can't believe we went to 3-5-2 and took Palma off (one of our only goal threats). That immediately made us 10x less threatening going forward. Why Phillips was effectively playing as a RW in the second half was absolutely baffling. The idea to push AJ and Taylor up wide was never going to work either. They provide little width at the best of times and aren't renowned for their attacking play, particularly Taylor.

Then taking Kyogo off, ok he might've been * - but we were even more toothless after this. Why Oh wasn't brought on was beyond me. We were crying out for pace but turned to Forrest to get us a goal and stuck Maeda up front whose scoring record is pish. There was no intent or positivity from Rodgers in that second half. When they went down to 10 men we should have been piling the pressure on but looked clueless.

Very frustrating. Just seemed like Rodgers was actively wanting a draw after he changed formation. The subs were a clear white flag moment, happy to take the point. Why?! Anything less than a win was never going to be good enough, I really can't understand the mentality by his second half display. Yet again, another missed opportunity.

    Would've brought on

    Oh , Yang , Turnbull , Iwata , Johnstone , Ralston Lagerbike , Morrison , or Bain

    Instead of Forrest

Would you have rathered he stood by and watched us lose? Cause that’s what was going to happen without the change.

He could have thrown a forward on when they went down to 10 but he earned his wage tonight.

Forest was a surprise choice, but he’s got it tactically correct so far in this CL campaign, for me.

We look a lot less tactically naive that we did last year, at least.

Taylor had as many goals off him as athletico wanted until he put the three at the back. I was really relieved he made that change as Taylor was being exposed defensively over and over by llorente. athleticos entire game plan seemed to be pass it to him. I even seen wee greasy * literally pointing to pass to llorente. Honestly think it could have been embarrassing if he didn't go to the three at the back. As in 5-2 to 10 men embarrassing.

Its blatantly obvious why he brought Forrest on though. Experience in a game we’re getting pinned back in

We were getting * ragdolled in the second half until he switched to 352 and we immediately gained some control after he changed it, I thought it was clear as day it worked.

I would've brought OH on when we went a man up though

Was surprised not to see Iwata, midfield looked so drained last 30. Forrest purely on for his experience.

Thought he did really well.. if you look at the substitutions that Atletico have compared to our substitutions it's not even a fair contest..

We just got a point from a team that will go top of La Liga if it wins its game in hand in spite of not replacing Jota and you want to complain about Brendan Rodgers? This is our best CL result since, well, since Brendan Rodgers.

The subs were very strange. The change to a 352 did solidify us, but the fact is we really needed to win this. Bringing on Forrest was just bizarre and leaving Maeda up top while taking off Kyogo.

Still, we're making huge strides in Europe under him performance-wise. With the right investment (I know, I know) I really believe he could have us qualifying from the groups regularly.

7 clear in the League and we are at least competing in the CL, we're getting there.

Aye massive credit for changing the shape before the game got away from us..

Thought he could have subbed the sub though Bernardo looked shattered, understandably, crying out for Iwata..

Iam 40 years old I've got more experience lol

Lot of time for Forrest for over the years but 110% the wrong personal kyogo and Maeda dead on their feet still have more pace, understand changing the shape

In fairness to him his bench is hardly strong enough to properly make an impact at this level so we're relying on his tactics to get us close at all to these teams.

And I say this as someone who criticised his subs in the match thread.

Will judge him when he's been properly backed in a transfer window.

Well yeah, I've already given him credit for the first half. Can't we be balanced here and assess his bizarre decisions in the second?

The proof is in the pudding: we got out of it with a draw. It's an incredible result.
