People on this forum almost post by post disagree with each other. Not sure why you think a single poster stating we should all do something carries any weight :39:

Up until the last Livingston game I'd say the football we've played as a team has been disappointing, at best, in all honesty some of it was really concerning. Definitely getting better but a long way off what I expected to see at this point in the season given our dominance last season and all the money we've available. For me Rodgers is starting to get there but nothing special yet.

I agree and feel that it's got a lot to do with losing Jota. Maeda and Abada aren't particularly creative wingers, even though they do contribute over the course of a season they don't create a lot of chances through their play. Yang has one assist so far and is eager but at the moment he doesn't look good enough. Hopefully he will improve. Palma has only just started to show his quality and I'm hoping he (and later Tilio) can improve our chance creation.

Spot on. Creativity has been lacking early doors, though picked up recently. Not having a firing Hatate didnt help either

Nowhere have i said that winning at ibrox is less impressive than winning at CP. However, it isn't as black and white as that, there are circumstances and each individual game has its own circumstances attached, and what I will say is the 4 - 0 win at home and the manner in which it came about is no less impressive than the win at ibrox, against, in your own words "a * hun side"

There were also circumstances attached to the recent win at ibrox that i won't go into because it would be petty.

And where the * did I say anyone didnt give a * about losing at ibrox ? That's a straw man argument and not even worth going into further tbh.

Using the excuse that we lost at Ibrox because partly the league was won is a clear insinuation that the intensity and desire to go there and win wasn't there.

Hammering a Rangers side that generally crumbles inside Parkhead is brilliant, obviously. But winning at Ibrox with no fans and everything going against you? It's more impressive. Hands down.

Getting hammered at Celtic Park is more or less expected from their supporters now. Losing on their own turf to us hurts them more. Especially now with no fans. It's a bigger and more difficult result to pull off.

Where have I "downplayed "that defeat in that sentence you highlighted? I merely put it into perspective in mentioning undeniable circumstances that contributed to the defeat. Much like there were circumstances around the draw earlier in the season.

I fully agree that we shouldn't be playing a weakened side at ibrox at any time, but we did, which is undeniable. It's also undeniable that when a league is won players have a tendency to drop levels of performance, we've seen it plenty of times in the past.

It's not an excuse, it happens. We shouldn't have played a weakened side but we did. Players performance levels and desire shouldn't drop off after a league is won,
, but they do. Its happened umpteen times in the past and will continue to do so as long as the game is played.

Going to ibrox and winning is obviously great but, again, there were circumstances attached to getting thst win as much as there were to the defeat and the draw earlier that season.

But it's not just the game at the end of last season either. Ange's performances at Ibrox all-round weren't particularly great. Outside of the 2-1 win, the other displays weren't overly impressive. The 2-2 draw in particular was actually a huge disappointment in terms of performance level. We were second best in all the other 3 outside of our 2-1 win if truth be told.

I'm not saying the performance at Ibrox was particularly great last month either. And yes each game has differing circumstances. But for me, winning at Ibrox, certainly in this current day and age with no fans and total hostility, is always a more impressive result than mauling Rangers at Celtic Park. Especially considering how fragile that Rangers team is away from home anyway.

It's not really an argument we should both get too heated about in fairness :56:

I just found it funny almost immediately after he said that, there was a disagreement regarding Rodgers himself, it's not that serious mate.

Also, to say we're a long way off what you were expecting is nonsense. We royally * the Transfer Window, no disagreements there, but if VAR had done it's job properly we don't go out against Killie, and it's a near perfect start to the season.

Brendan Rodgers, has picked up his first award since his return to Celtic by being named the Scottish Premiership Glen’s Manager of the Month for September 2023.

His Celtic side enjoyed a 100 per cent record in the league during September, recording victories over Motherwell, Livingston, Dundee and Rangers, to open a four-point gap at the top of the table.

The lead has now extended to seven points ahead of the Scottish Premiership campaign resuming after the international break.

The Hoops have made an unbeaten start to the defence of their Scottish Premiership title, with seven wins and a draw from their eight matches played so far.

Brendan Rodgers said: “I'm delighted to accept this award on behalf of the players and my backroom team. We have enjoyed a very successful September with some excellent performances leading to very positive results in the League.

“Although it is early in the season, everyone is getting to know my way of working and the players’ togetherness and application has been tremendous.

"Even in the face of some significant injury challenges, the whole squad has stood up extremely well with so many players making important contributions.

“Our focus now will be to continue this good work as we face some tough tests ahead.

'I would also like to take this opportunity once again to thank our fans for the great positive support they continue to give to the team.'

Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, said: "Celtic’s league form was strong throughout September, with three away victories and the loss of just one goal from their four matches, and so our voting panel had no hesitation in selecting Brendan Rodgers as our Glen’s Manager of the Month for September.

“After a summer of change at the club, Brendan and his coaching staff are again ensuring that Celtic are setting the standards required to be successful at home and abroad. Their start to the league season has been impressive.

“My congratulations go to Brendan and all involved at Celtic Park on being named the Scottish Premiership Glen’s Manager of the Month for September.”

A long way to go but week on week you can see it getting a little better (from where we were at the start of this season).

In all honesty I think Palma aside most of our transfer dealings have left a bit to be desired. Think Nawrocki will be a good signing but we have seen little of him so far.

Got faith in Rodgers to take us up a few gears with time and fully expect us to look better with each passing fxiture

Loving the tweeks he's made since last time and we will keep improving on the footballing part.

Most points at this stage in the league since 2011 as well.

Really getting into it now. Good thing is I still feel we have another few levels to go up. Another top class wide player would make a big difference.
