Whether MJ will ever make it here I don't know but from what I've seen of Yang so far I'd rather see Mikey given game-time ahead of him. There's certainly something there in Johnston but atm it's a toss-up whether he'll be a McGeady or a McCourt for us.

From the little I’ve saw so far of Yang a fit MJ seems a better option. Fit and MJ is another thing though unfortunately

My worry isn’t his ability, my worry would be whether he’s capable of staying fit enough for a long enough period that we actually get to see his ability in full swing.

I didn’t know if there was another player mentioned in a previous comment as anyone that has ever watched him play that isn’t majorly blind would see that the foot he dribbles with and uses to pass and shoot with is his right…….. but there ye go

It’s always gonna be the case of his fitness rather than his ability. He has the talent there, can’t convince me otherwise than in games where a team sets up with 10 men behind the ball against us he wouldn’t be a better option than Yang or even maeda for being creative n breaking teams down, running at them etc…. It’s just a matter of can he stay fit, I hope so as I think it’s always good to have a core of scottish/Irish/academy players in the group.

A fit MJ would be like a new signing. Seriously though, I think on his day, he has the ability to unlock those teams who park the bus against us which is practically every team in the league.

Without a doubt and Johnston playing most of the Ireland game yesterday as well as a sub appearance off the bench at the weekend getting a goal and playing well can only be good for us with a tough run of games coming up.

All these people ranting and raving about his performance last night.....we were playing Gibraltar......I'd expect a Ross County win tbh

What impressed me most that he managed 70 minutes injury free.

I don't think there's anything to say that hasn't already been said. Tremendous talent but made of glass. Still, if and its a big if he stays fit I don't see any harm in having him around the squad.

If that's true, then there's two players with no business being in a Celtic shirt.

Johnston has always had ability, so that's why he has business in a Celtic shirt, multiple injuries have cost him..

Rodgers has hinted he will give him game time.. for me it's worth one more try and hopefully he grabs it..

We could regret not playing him and he moves on and shines somewhere else..

I do understand why some have already given up on him tho..

    Yang, early days..

Well, I believe that’s true, I’ve little doubt about it. As for your own assertions, time will tell.

I would certainly have him on the bench this weekend. He is fit and his confidence must be high after a good international window for him personally.

That is the worry, he managed 28 appearances last season in Portugal and that’s his best ever tally. He did pick up a couple niggles, but was largely fit. SPFL is much more physical, much heavier pitches or plastic pitches.

Honestly for some reason I thought Tynecastle was next Sunday, and we were home to Hibs this week… cos I misheard a radio working the other night. And thought know what, give him a chance off the bench or even start if Maeda’s not fit.

Then realised Hearts at Tynecastle and immediately thought no, too physical and he’ll not get through it.

Then pushed through that feeling, and thought you know what he’ll know what Hearts and Tynecastle is like. Give him a half hour or so, getting through it unscathed, that’s a boost to his confidence after a confidence building week for him.

I can always remember Henrik saying the best thing that happened to him first game back after the leg break was he got crunched within five minutes and remembered he’s not actually fragile and got on with it.

because he was nervous, if not for that, he doesn’t know how it’d have played on his mind. And then that same incident, was in his head after his ligaments at Barca. The minds a powerful thing to how you can use your ability, sometimes it does stuff you actively don’t want it to do, like pull out a tackle rather than 50/50, because its in the back of your mind that you may not get through it. Hardest physically on the league is Hearts at Tynecastle, performing there no joke, could make his Celtic career successful. Could also break the last chance if he can’t stand upto it

The more I think about it, I would only give him a shot because I'm so underwhelmed with Yang.

I think I'd rather just loan him to Hibs or something in January and see how he goes.

Grand old team to play for
I think we're struggling for wingerss at the moment. Palma looks good. Daizen has the work rate, but he's really not doing well in terms of goals and assists numbers. Yang's end product isn't there yet. Jamesy is past it. Tilio isn't up to speed yet. With 7 games in 21 days coming up, think MJ has a part to play. But if he gets a chance, he has to seize it.

I’d like to see him given a chance tomorrow aswell, I’ve always liked the lad just feel for him with the injuries etc but I will admit this season he has to take the chances he’s given or there can’t be anymore excuses. The Vitoria manager spoke highly of him last season in a good league and he’s been looking good with Ireland so would like to see him given a chance tomorrow.
I would like to see us start with palma left and maeda right then bring mikey on for one of them around 65 mins and get 25 mins for us out on the left to try make a case for why he should be in the team… if he does well maybe another 20 mins or so against atlethico
