Super Mario World is a pretty special game, the whole 2d mario series (including Gameboy games) ages amazingly well. The style is brilliant, the gameplay is smooth.

Never thought about them then last year or so, tried them out, fabulous games. Bought some edition that had the 3 of them together.

For the nostalgia factor it’s vice city for me. The lights, music and atmosphere was perfect.

Easily our 4-2 10 men won the league game, had everything, especially our winning the title with victory

Mario cart(if played with mates). Tetris or maybe Frogger just for their addictive simplicity. Street Fighter 2 was epic when it landed on the SNES. The 1st Metal Gear Solid. PES could usually be relied upon until it changed to Efootball and went to s**t.

Street Fighter 2 is actually still a really fun game to play. Definitely one of the most influential games ever, without it we definitely wouldn't have Mortal Kombat, likely KoF and Tekken too.
I also still play the original Gameboy Tetris, just so playable.

Just thought the gameplay and controls were spot on, likes of driving with the d-pad to steer instead of the stick I thought was better, I couldny get into GTA 5 at all, maybe it's cause I'm a bit pish at games lol.

Nostalgia says FF7,8 or 9. 8 being my favourite but probably the worst of them, 7 being the most game changing and important, 9 being the best and underrated.

But best ever is probably RDR2, was barely something you could label as a game gameplay wise, it was a different level of interaction in a story that you care about and feels like an actual world you’re stepping into.

Ghost of Tsushima is the one game since the FF’s back in the day I couldn’t put down and one of 3 I’ve platinumed just to do something else in a game I never wanted to stop playing, maybe not laid a claim to best ever but was a perfect game for what they set out to achieve

    2. World of Warcraft classic
    3. Path of Exile

But its extremely hard to answer as i could make a list of 50 games that could be in that 1-3. Individual.

If i had to say all around what i believe for everyone so to speak i would say Super Mario Bros 3.

For many online gaming started at COD 4, for me it was Unreal Tournament in 1999, there will be a lot older people on this forum though have been online gaming even further back like Ultima and the original quake.

Halflife series, played through Blue Shift and Opposing Force quite recently holds up really well, proper old skool expansions unlike this dlc crap these days. The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk are only modern games a can think off that have had proper expansions made for them.

GTA 3,still vividly remember what it was like playing it for the first time and being in awe.VC and SA took it to another level, spent a ridiculous amount of time playing them as there was so much to do.No online fuckery and ten year waits in between games either.

That's my best one too, liked Nico and the story. 5 was brilliant but not better than 4 for me.

Although I probably still think Mafia 1 is best kinda type game, 2nd brilliant too.

I'm going to run a top 5 in no particular order.

    1. FF7 (ps one)
    2. Fallout 3
    3. Bioshock
    4. Zelda - Ocarina of time (* the water temple, still).
    5. Halo series - changed pvp shooters forever.

Pretty much a individual thing but in my opinion, Diablo 2.

Followed by World of Warcraft and Super Mario Bros 3.
