You might be right mate. There’s been a few instances where Rod Stewart has done things that would anger some fans.

As much of a c*unt Boris is and how stupid that tweet was, what has it got to do with Celtic? The banners that followed at the stadium were equally , if not more, retarded.

I'm sure Rod had openly criticised the GB too.

I had no issue with that banner.

Beautiful statement. The Green Brigade always rise to the occasion. So proud to be a Celtic fan.

Not one single person I have heard from in the real world, or in here, has said highlighting the plight of your average Palestinian should stop/be stopped, not a one. What they have all said though is showing support for hamas is utterly abhorrent and if that is allowed to continue then by association me/you/we/all of us as a group are culpable for it also and that goes well past being uncomfortable.

The time to add to the statement has well passed now, for the reasoning we discussed and is above, they have shown what they back and for that they can just * off.
Regarding the media response to this I have watched numerous interviews with the interviewer specifically asking about the scale of the Israeli response, proportionate level/legality of it etc, indeed currently the bbc are continuing to refuse to use the word terrorist when they are reporting/talking about hamas, so the bias isn't as big as some are trying to build it up to be.

I don't think the media have been balanced at all it never is when it comes to this conflict..

Aye, we are in total agreement with what Hamas did, totally abhorrent and any support for them is unacceptable..

Solidarity with the Palestinian people, if Celtic fans want to show it should be applauded in my opinion, I guess conclusions will be drawn that haven't been helped by the GB, however they don't speak for us all and our enemies will draw the same conclusions in any case..

Im not saying its as balanced as I would like but its not as bad as some claim for the reasons I have just given.

Yes it should be applauded, and has been previously, however the problem arises when some cant separate the difference between acceptable and abhorrent, when that happens they need to be excluded from the main body of the group. Brushing it under the carpet or ignoring it simply doesn't work nor should that even be contemplated.

So, you would close their section for the A. Madrid game?

Edit: I remembered you've already argued for that in this thread.

For the reasons we have discussed - the use of the word resistance on the banner - what that implies and for what wasn't even mentioned in that statement - which was, as we agreed on, a conscious choice JC, Yes I would now in a heart beat. What else could they arrange for the game if allowed to be there... folk should think on that.
The only major thing to decide upon here now, given what has gone on, is whether the whole section should be relocated and others offered the section going forward.

Aye, I do think it was a conscious choice, they maybe think they've left things ambiguous enough to get away with it.. we'll find out soon enough I guess..

The GB fought for that rail seating section since 2006 and have worked tirelessly to create an atmosphere in that area of the ground, would be absolutely mental to have them moved out and others replace them.

If enough folk button up the back they might get away with it JC but you don't believe it* either and I doubt the majority on here even believe it tbh.

Would you not ban them then ? What would you do with them, just trust them to not do something similar again ?

*if you do we need to have another mafia game as payback is heading your way :giggle1:

    Mafia, those were the days..:56:

I'm undecided on a ban from a banner that can be taken a few ways.. the assumption we've made is likely correct but it is an assumption.

No idea what communication goes on between the board and the GB, there must be some I'd imagine not sure if done via JP the SLO, but if I were on the board I'd be asking for clarification and maybe a further statement.. then take it from there..
